John made us feel very comfortable and welcomed to open our communication between us. I feel we accomplished more in one session because he does not restrict our time to the customary hour of other therapists. We have homework and and plan in place. We came in distant to each other and left holding hands because of John.
Denise is an Amazing Therapist!! I can not thank her enough for all that she has done to help me on my healing journey. She has an incredible background for healing for individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, marital issues, and adverse childhood experiences. She employs a variety of therapy techniques to include psychotherapy, meditation, sand trays, and immersion therapy to unearth the core problems that we, as adults, may be facing. She is an extremely compassionate, caring and understanding person who is highly motivated and dedicated to helping others. Medicine is an Art and Denise has the Gift to Heal! If you or a loved one are facing stress or have been subject to stress or adverse situations in your past you must seek Denise for advice and help. She will not only address your current issues or problems but focus more deeply on your past. Denise has made a Difference in my Life and I am forever Thankful for all that she has done for me and my family!! Peace and Love, Dr Joseph Strauss
I highly recommend Nova Hypnotherapy. My therapist, Andrew Bennett, was very professional and understanding of my situation. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or awkward. Before the first session began, Mr. Bennett gave me a thorough explanation of what hypnotherapy is, what my role in it would be, and what I could expect as results from it. I was encouraged to ask questions and was given ample time to express any concerns I had. Each concerned was taken seriously and alleviated to my satisfaction. It is clear that the therapy was catered to my individual needs rather than a canned process. In fact, there was no set time limit given for my sessions due to this very reason. The hypnotherapy itself was a very pleasant experience. So much so, that I was truly looking forward to the next session. I realize that each person and situation is different, but for me, it took just two sessions for my smoking cessation goal to be met. I also got some unexpected results from my hypnotherapy sessions with Mr. Bennett. Not only was my original goal met, but another issue which had been plaguing me for years was revealed during my second session. Through further discussion with Mr. Bennett, I have discovered a solution for this issue as well. I encourage anyone who is contemplating hypnotherapy to contact Andrew Bennett at Nova Hypnotherapy. He not only works with matters such as mine, but also a myriad of other physical, emotional, and behavioral issues. You will not be sorry.
Wonderful therapist. Very inviting and easy to verbalize too!
Mr. Tsakounis (Thom) is a skilled and caring therapist. We came to "A Quiet Journey Counseling " center for couples counseling. My husband was very reluctant at first, but quickly found Thom to be a supportive and understanding ally. Feeling like Thom "got " him, and us, allowed our work with Thom to progress quickly. As a mental health therapist myself, I have very high expectations for fellow counselors. Thom met or exceeded my expectations! He is well versed in a number of holistic, cognitive behavioral and Gestalt modalities, and a genuinely caring human being. While my husband and I have more work to do, Thom has supported us and given us new tools to communicate more effectively in our relationship. I reccommend Mr. Tsakounis whole-heartedly!
Amy is a very caring, positive supportive person. She is an excellent communicator with great patience. She was my life coach for about five years and helped me with my life goals and values. When I met my partner she became our couples coach. She was good at role playing and relationship skill exercises. She also was good at listening to us and not taking sides. The best thing I could say was that although I had been seeing her for years as my life coach , my girlfriend liked her from the start and always felt comfortable with her. She never felt that Amy favored me over her. This is the most compelling case I can make as to why Amy is so good and has a genuine affection for her clients. She is openly rooting for you. The things she could do better probably is true for most therapists and life or couples coaches. I felt especially as a couples coach she didn't challenge us enough or focus harder on some of the problems we were having. She did not however, attempt to do therapy which is beyond her training and was always clear and honest with us that she was a couples coach and not a couples therapist. My partner and I are still together and thanks to Amy we learned valuable communication skills and a respect for each other. I highly recommend Amy as both a life coach and a couples coach. You will always have a friend who cares about you and wants what's best for you in her.
Joanna was a wonderful listener and excellent person to speak with. She was there for me when I most needed her and helped me evolve as person. I have been to therapists in the past and have never felt as fulfilled as I did when I started having sessions with Joanna. A job of a good therapist is not to have their clients depend on them but to teach them how to fully function on their own and that is exactly what she did for me. She helped me to see the capabilities I hold within myself and I will forever be grateful for that.
I've trained many therapists for over 30 years, and Dr. Jen Sermoneta is a gifted and dedicated psychotherapist. She works hard to truly know and help her clients improve the quality of their inner and outer worlds through deeper self-awareness, personal empowerment, better decision making, and clearer, more direct, communications. I would refer my closest friends and relatives to her.
Avi was someone who was very professional yet down to earth. I felt completely understood and valued and was also impressed with the meaningful feedback and direction which I received in therapy. After looking everywhere for a competent therapist, Avi exceeded my expectations.
Before I met with Dr. David I filled out a very detailed questionnaire. As a result, when we met, Dr. David knew the issue that I wanted to address, he had detailed background information, etc. As a result, our meeting was very productive. Dr. David asked appropriate questions that moved the session along. He listened. He offered honest, thoughtful opinions. I would highly recommend this therapist
My family has only met with Dr. Stephanie a few times so far; but, she is the only therapist that has focused on the underlying issues vs the symptoms in such a short timeframe. Moreover, Dr. Stephanie is specific in the goals for each session - there is a plan, not just addressing the issue of the day. She also has fabulous active listening skills. Best of all, Dr. Stephanie is so very friendly and personable, understanding, and welcoming(even my husband was impressed by the atmosphere of her office). Every member of my family likes Dr. Stephanie! She has given us a glimmer of hope.
I did not get to work with Caroline because of tight finances. However, she was kind and responded back quickly. She is very professional and I'm sure she is a great therapist. I hope to work with her in the future!
Landa provided individual counseling to my 8 year old son via Skype since we do not live in the area. She was friendly and made him feel comfortable opening up to her. He still asks to speak with her even when his life is running smoothly.
The fall of 2014 was a turning point in my life. I was experiencing a crisis in that I was turning another year older and needed to find some perspective and direction in my life. My inability to truly understand my purpose created a state of panic and anxiety and I didn't know what to do. During this time I was referred to Center of First Thought. At first I was a little apprehensive about seeing a therapist but I was immediately put at ease. My therapist, Rose Shelton and I talked about my life path. I was able to put a lot of things into perspective. I thought of her as like a coach. Thanks to Ms. Shelton I have learned to see things more clearly and a lot of my anxiety about the future has disappeared. I am still growing and learning my path but I don't know if I could have come this far if it had not been for Ms. Shelton and Center of First Thought.
Connie is one of the best therapists in Maryland. She is compassionate, intelligent, well-practiced, and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend her for individuals or couples. I consider myself very lucky to have crossed paths with her.
Laura is a constantly positive presence. Open minded and supportive. A genuine sense of "you can do it" that helped push my art. Also she's got a set of pipes that can melt faces.
