In addition to both a Bachelor's and Masters degree in music, my performance, teaching, and educational career has taken me to various parts of the US as well as Ghana, Trinidad, Colombia, and Bali. As a result, I've had the opportunity to study and teach drum set and percussion, especially in the contexts of pop, rock, West African, Afro-Cuban, and Caribbean music/Steel Pan as well as jazz, musical theatre, and Western Classical music. In your lessons, my sole responsibility is to help you achieve your goals through music. Not everyone’s goals are the same, and that individuality is what keeps our world such an interesting, complex place! Some people are or want to be professional musicians, some are interested in picking up a new hobby, and many fall somewhere in between - regardless of where you fall on that spectrum, as soon as you begin lessons, I share in your goals. Not sure exactly what your goal is yet? Don’t sweat it. As long as you are continuing to progress and grow, our lessons will never be a waste of time. If your goals change along the way, our lessons will change right along with them. Learning music is a lifelong journey, and I would be honored to be any part of it!
