Introduction: I only take on one project at a time so I can focus on writer's style and voice. I do an in-line edit for grammar, offering suggestions or correcting mistakes, to improve readability. Then I write up an overall view to address organization and content of the manuscript. Writer is allowed an hour to ask questions and get clarification when I am done and the writer has the edited manuscript.
I enjoy helping writers improve their work.

$1 a Page provided detailed editing for early drafts of two of my novels. Valerie Jean's thorough analysis and keen insight helped me to strengthen my main characters motives, build more tension in the story lines and tie up loose ends in the plots. Her editing produced more valuable feedback than any other critiques I had ever received. I had previously used other types of editing services, a book doctor and a workshop facilitator, but Valerie Jean's $1 a Page editing service gave me so much more. It included a page-by-page edit of the 350-400 page manuscripts, a chapter-by-chapter summary (which was particularly helpful to me in revising), and a summary analysis for each manuscript. In addition, the service included a face-to-face consultation at the end of the editing job, where she answered all the questions I had concerning her edits and critique, and where she generously offered more creative ideas about my work. I am grateful to Valerie Jean for helping me to create a more polished manuscript that I was then ready to submit to publishers.
