Hi all, I'm sharing a long review so others know what to expect when they need the same type of service for the first time. The 50-gallon electric water heater in my condo was leaking and needed to be replaced. Walter coordinated same day service while I went to Home Depot to purchase a new water heater and water heater pan. After sending him the order number and Home Depot location, his team picked up the water heater on their way to my condo. David and Melvin arrived as scheduled and were very friendly and professional. The first thing they did was protect the work area with large floor cloths. They explained the installation process step-by-step. Their skill combined with the latest tools in the trade resulted in a very efficient operation and took around 1.5 hours to complete. I paid via credit card and it was processed onsite using their mobile credit card reader. It is now two weeks post installation and I have no problems to report. Out of all the Thumbtack quotes I received, their quote was the highest by a significant percentage, but I still chose Eagle Home because their service comes with a 1-year warranty. I reasoned that they must do quality work if they automatically back it up for a minimum of a year. Other factors in my selection included the high number of positive reviews (that were plumbing specific) and Walter's responsiveness. My only gripe with the service was that the already high quote did not include haul away of the old water heater. Haul away was an additional charge. This was a lessons learned for me to make sure quotes for similar projects in the future include the cost of installation and disposal. I give Eagle Home 5 stars for service and 3.5 stars for cost.
David provided a resolution to our water leak issue in the basement by building a retaining wall, his crew did a great job, after a few rainfalls there hasn't been any water leak, hoping it resolves the problem for good. Good work overall.
I hired Antonio, of Renaissance Restoration, to do several projects. They included: 1) rebuilding the curb in my shower that was installed improperly by a different contractor; 2) Finishing a half-bath remodel that included refinishing and painting the drywall after they had be damaged from wallpaper removal, installing a vanity including plumbing and trim; 3) Repairing water-damaged hardwood floors and refinishing hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, hall and stairway; 4) Expanding the kitchen entrance by 2 inches, repairing and refinishing the drywall and wood floor. I was at first skeptical to hire one person to complete all these tasks due to the variety of skills required. Fortunately, Antonio had all the skills necessary to complete the job expertly and timely. His attention to detail and vast experience with carpentry and contracting work in general proved to be invaluable. The end result of each project was even better than I had expected. Needless to say I would hire Antonio again for my next project.
Marvin Guzman installed a sink and new faucets. He did the job nicely and was very flexible when I bought the wrong faucets and had to ask him to come back.
I was referred to Thumbtack by a co-worker after describing I had purchased the tile materials to re-tile a stand-up shower and a shower/tub combo. Matt was one of 5 contractors who responded within hours after my post and I was impressed with his credentials, pictures of jobs completed, and reviews. He met with me within 48, and we realized he had completed the tile floor work in my house for the previous owners nearly 5 years ago! The tile floor was a big selling feature for me back then and I was pleased when Matt could do the work I requested, for a very reasonable price, and he was able to start within a few days. Matt is prompt, meticulous, courteous, and was patient to answer my questions, and to do the work well and not rush to just finish
I had several other offers, but he was the only one who actually came out as promised. He was patient & listened to my needs and concerns. He also provided good feedback (and a fair price).
Needed mold remediation and drywall repair after finding out my 3rd floor deck has been leaking water behind the siding. Was contacted immediately after I put a request in and was provided a thorough quote for work to be performed. Work was completed in a reasonable amount of time. Will definitely use Unlimited Resources again.
GRG did a great job, neat, courteous, and completed in two days. I would definitely recommend them for landscaping or yard projects. The did a day well for me in an area that had water problems.
I had Unique Homes (Simeon) complete 4 different projects for me, each progressively bigger. All of them were successful -- although not without little issues that came up now and then, but that were always taken care of. The prices were very good and the jobs were done well. Job #1 - I had a front porch that needed concrete work. This was a relatively small job, but it was done well. Job #2 - This was a remodel of small bathroom. Again, the job was done well and was a good price. And Simeon indulged us owners half-way through the project when we did not like something about the floor tiles we had chosen. Totally our issue, we did not really like how it looked when it started getting installed. But he undid some of his work and we were able to fix it. Job #3 - This was a full bathroom remodel, so a more significant job. Again, this project was done well, but the costs savings really started to come through on this project. We were very happy with the final look of the bathroom. Job #4 - This was by far the biggest job. It was a complete remodel of our master bathroom. I had received various quotes from other contractors in the $30-40K range for the project (including materials). Simeon's prices were less than a third of that, however that did not include any of the materials. In the end, I think the materials is the source of a lot of the savings since I think the others hide mark-ups (or store kick-backs) in the materials. For this project we went to some high end stores and looked at their display designs and chose/copied what we liked. We chosen something that was based on a white marble tile as a base ...and Lowes/HD carried it at a fraction of the cost of Tile City. I think we saved $5k on the marble along. We bought some of the more unique accent stuff in Tile City at full price, but for everything else we were able to replicate the Tile City look with HD or Lowe's materials of equal quality. We bought a high end shower panel, but bought it through Costco. The same fixture at a high-end bathroom store was thousands more than what we paid. At some higher end stores Simeon would give us the Unique Homes discount that he had negotiated. Some places (like the glass doors for the shower) were still expensive...but I ended up with the same bathroom that would have been $40k for about $20K. So yes, I recommend Unique Homes.
I spent a lot of time finding the right contractor to build my pond and pondless stream. Scott at Ponds by Bee was responsive (he was the only one of three finalists to offer to come to my house to see the site. One never came and the other came only after I drove 70 miles to his place first). He was creative (he was able to make the separate pond and stream look like they were one system; he made great use of the existing landscaping and other nearby structures; and he made the whole thing look natural). And he was affordable! Of the three bids, his was the lowest. His crew was friendly and knowledgeable, and the first fall maintenance visit was very helpful and informative. I'd recommend Ponds by Bee to anyone looking to add a water feature to their property. I'm thrilled with mine.
JR takes you back to the old days when service came with a smile. He is an outstanding young man, with the expertise to tailor his services to your specific needs. I bought a house that came with a pond. I knew nothing about ponds and the thing was a mess. JR was very responsive and punctual. He transformed my algae infested, swampy, mud pile into THE eye-popping attraction of my backyard. He took the time to explain everything I’d need to know to care for my koi fish and maintain the pond year-round. He offered reasonable prices when compared to others, so I was able to use his services year-round. I did a great deal of research to find a reliable water feature repairman, so I feel lucky to have met JR. With a new home, I have contracted a great deal of work on thumbtack, and JR has been the best contractor across every service area I have used. Do yourself a favor, and give JR a call before accepting others’ outrageous pricing and services.

I highly recommend Bill LeFave and his team at Audobon Landscaping. He recently provided fabulous design ideas and expert installation that completely transformed my small back yard. Features include a gorgeous paver patio, stone steps, 2 loose-laid stone walls, re-contouring for perfect water control, an irrigation system for the gardens, and lovely lighting. He also did a phenomenal job of cleaning up, pruning, and mulching my entire yard. Bill has great crews, and he supervises and works along with them on all stages of the project. I feel fortunate to have found someone with such knowledge, artistry, and skill to transform my yard. Besides that, he's delightful to work with, can give you terrific guidance about plants, and provides his services at a very fair price. Before we started, I saw his phenomenal work at the yard of a very satisfied customer. Now I am also one.
We have been clients of ILD for nearly 20 years. They designed, and maintained our grounds, gardens, ponds & water features, including the landscaping for two distinctly different homes. The owners of ILD are on the job from design consultation to hands on working the grounds, and paying attention to every detail that goes into the overall plan until completion. They are a start to finish company that stands behind their work and maintains a personal relationship with their customers. No job is too small or too large. When we moved an hour away from the home where ILD designed and maintained our gardens we had an occasion to consider other landscapers only to swiftly return to ILD as their customer service, quality, and overall skill set are second to none.
Rob showed up on time, is very knowledgeable & professional. I would highly recommend Rob for all your pond needs.
I hired Johnson's Home Renovation to rebuild my basement due to water damage. The quality of work performed was superb, both from Scott Johnson and his crew. They paid attention to details, i.e. in the placement of tiles, and recommended alternatives to save on cost and improve the aesthetics of my basement. Both Scott and his crew conducted themselves very professional taking into consideration my personal schedule and ensuring the premises surrounding the basement door remained cleaned. I have already recommended Johnson's Home Renovation to my friends and I would hire them again. , Luis
Scott and his crew with Classic American Ponds built a beautiful pond with a small water falls. My wife and I always wanted one and they were able to construct it with out tearing my whole back yard up. We are closing it up for the winter, and just wanted to again say thank you.
Premier Ponds did a wonderful job helping get my pond ready for winter. They arrived exactly when they said they would, took care of a clogged line, emptied and cleaned the whole pond, cut back and/or hauled away the pond plants, checked all the mechanicals, and left me with a very clean pond and lots of happy goldfish. They also design ponds and pond features, and supply plants. Very pleasant people to work with. I recommend highly.
