Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: If you are outside the Hagerstown area, please read my entire profile before requesting me. Consider checking my website for class times. I may decline a request, because I've already got class scheduled that day of the week. As of June 1st all private consultations will resume in-person as normal. If you would like to continue the adapted quarantine procedures, see below. ***Quarantine Free Upgrade*** First-time clients looking for consultation may upgrade from the 1.5-hour appointment to the 2-hour with no extra charge if they start with an online appointment. They also have the option to split the time into two appointments or save the second hour for an in-person session later. Here at Atta Pup, I help dogs learn what we want them to do and empower them to independently make their own "good decisions." I train with science! I'll use methods based on current research and rooted in psychology. I will never use or encourage the use of painful, scary, or irritating methods or "training tools." I am a member of the Pet Professional Guild and hold CPDT-KA and PMCT certifications, as well as a graduate degree in psychology. For private training, I start every client out with an initial consultation. Those fees are $179 - 1.5 hours and $199 - 2 hours. We discuss anything from stressors that affect behavior to practicing techniques to help an aggressive dog. Clients come to me with a variety of issues, but most calls are for aggression or anxiety and good manners. After that initial consultation, you may opt to choose to make that appointment a package ($465-$820) or just request individual follow-ups. If you'd prefer I take over from there, I also offer day training packages starting at $485. All package prices include the initial consultation fee. **NOTES** There is a $15 travel fee per appointment for clients 25 miles outside of Hagerstown. Due to website fees, I cannot accept Thumbtack requests at this range, either.

The Atta Pup trainers are excellent and make learning with your dog a fun experience! Once you’ve taken classes there, you become part of the “Atta Pup family” and will always find support and help with any challenges you may encounter down the road. The trainers truly care. I highly recommend Atta Pup: there is something for everyone there and your dog(s) will love it!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our base rate is for training $100 per hour. Brand new clients will have a longer appointment for their initial session with a different price. Initial consultations run $179-$199 and last 1.5-2 hours; client's choice. We frequently offer sales or a specialized discounted program and also have payment plans for our full-priced services. We have a general travel fee for clients 25 miles outside of Hagerstown, MD (or 20 miles for the discounted programs.)

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Private training clients start with an initial consultation lasting 1.5-2 hours where we discuss your concerns and start practicing during that first appointment! Your mind will be jam-packed with information by the time that appointment is over. Pet sitting and dog walking clients begin with a 30-minute meet and greet. 75% of that fee acts as a deposit on your service. Yard cleanup services start with an initial meeting where we discuss your preferences. That meeting lasts 15-30 minutes plus time to clean the yard.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

M.S. Psychology Licensed Behavior Specialist (PA) CPDT-KA: Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed PMCT: Pat Miller Certified Trainer Pet Professional Guild Member
