I would highly, highly recommend Alvarado Construction. They are highly professional and built a beautiful stone patio based on our specifications. They brought ideas to the table which further improved the project. The masonry experts arrived each day on-time if not early. The price was reasonable as well. They removed our old concrete walk-way, leveled our front yard, and installed our patio using all professional-grade material. It looks great!

After receiving 4 quotes for the same project, Alvarado Contractor provided the best value for the high quality of work they delivered. Fredy and his team were punctual, professional, and they definitely exhibit a great level of excellent service while working to get the project done in a timely manner. I highly recommend Alvarado Contractor for your concrete and construction needs - you won't be disappointed!

Fredy was a pleasure to work with. He gave me his professional opinion on what needed to be done to prevent water from coming into my garage. Alvarado Contracting demoed my existing asphalt driveway, re-graded and poured a new concrete driveway in just three days. After 3 major storms I have had zero water in my garage. I will definite use Alavardo Contracting again for all my concrete projects.

I hired Alvarado Contractors and highly recommend to others. Of the three estimates for this job (front porch facing and steps w/railings repair and painting; mix of concrete and wood work to match existing structures), Jorge and his partners were the most responsive, courteous, and timely. Overall, an excellent value. I am very happy with the result, and will definitely keep them in mind for future projects.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but after about two years living with the terrible concrete floor that Fredy poured in our basement, it's clear that something went very wrong with the process. We had him level our very uneven basement floor with fresh concrete and the end result has been extremely disappointing and expensive for us to remedy. The biggest problem is that the concrete continuously sheds dust (we discovered later after doing research that this is a problem called laitance), which speaks to inappropriate selection of materials, a problematic cure, and/or an overly wet mix. These are all issues one would expect a concrete professional to know how to avoid. We thought that maybe this was normal and that once the dust was swept up, it would stop at some point. Wrong. We kept sweeping but the dust kept coming off the very chalky, soft surface, making our basement a hazard zone. There is so much dust, we have to spray down the floor to sweep- otherwise the dust gets into our clothes and hair, not to mention the ceilings and walls. The cracking is also extensive. He also seems to have used several different types of concrete, which has resulted in a very Frankenstein-like surface with overlapping sections of concrete of differing colors and textures. Since our priority was leveling and not aesthetics, we decided not to make a fuss about it- but ultimately, combined with all the other problems with this floor, it speaks to a job done very poorly. We have recently started trying to fix the laitance by applying concrete densifiers and a consolidant to reduce the dust, spending a lot of time and money we shouldn't have had to spend if this project had been done well. So far the densifier and consolidant is working to reduce dust, but since this is a chemical bonding issue with the concrete, who knows what will happen several years down the road.
