FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first session includes a compressive assignment and is about 90 minutes. This first session is $175. An hour yoga therapy session is $150. Note: most people work with a yoga therapist once or twice/ week for 4-6 weeks, but everyone is different! I’ve had clients stay for 4 weeks, and some who are ongoing for years. Mileage fee may apply.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Yoga therapy offers a broad spectrum of areas that are within its scope of practice. It differs from a yoga class in a few important ways. The first and most apparent is that of assessment. Your first session is longer (90 min) because it includes a full assessment, including: physical imbalances, breath and energy difficulties, mental and emotional suffering, and your connection to joy and to others. In that first session, you’ll get to tell me anything and everything that you feel is pertinent to the matter you’re coming to see me for. We’ll talk about a direction for your work and look at a practice or two. In the second session you get to see the next biggest difference from a yoga class, it’s all about you! In that second and subsequent sessions, we get down to the business of your individualized practice. We check in on what worked and what didn’t. You always have the final say in any practice you do. I’m working WITH you toward feeling better… not telling you what to do and stepping away.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters of science in clinical yoga therapy. I also hold certifications in trauma informed yoga, trauma informed yoga for adolescence, restorative, yin, meditation, as well as thousands of hours of practice in teaching yoga and delivering yoga therapy.
