FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We are happy to consult on the nature and scope of the project by phone initially and/or review any images the client would like to send at no charge - as well as expedite a preliminary cost estimate to the extent possible from the images - and then schedule and/or construction manage the appropriate licensed, insured and bonded contractor/s to visit the home to discuss full project scope and/or construction manage any immediate repairs as needed.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
1. Are they LICENSED! Really important to avoid a range of potential problems. For example, in Maryland, the state will give you money back for bad work, but ONLY if the contractor has an MHIC license. 2. Honestly, we could say all the usual things like budget, timing, material specification, etc., but our view of what is critical is to budget some time to meet the contractor in person first and see if there is a fit. Test them on this first visit and see if they show up on time! The world is always in a big rush...this is a great time to slow down for a few minutes and reflect on not just price, but is this really someone/a company I want to be engaged with for some period of time working on my home or business?
