I met Michael while planning a surprise trip for my fiance (now husband) to Catalina. Michael is also a pilot as a hobby and he flew us to Catalina from Santa Monica which was amazing! During our communication about the flight he mentioned that he was also an accomplished photographer and I asked if he would mind doing an engagement photo shoot while we were in Catalina. He enthusiastically agreed and we had a lot of fun. My husband and I treasure the photos and I can not overstate how much we enjoyed hanging out with Michael. My husband basically hates posing and taking photos and Michael made it fun rather than a chore for him. It was a once-in-a-lifetime surprise and Michael was an essential part of the whole experience. He can really roll with the punches and come up with creative solutions. I would recommend him to anyone!

Michael's work is nothing less than spectacular. He photographed my wedding and at a reasonable cost. He was able to capture all of the special moments. His keen eye for a quality shot, attention to detail, and his friendly demeanor made the added wedding shots fun, instead of the typical boring process. The quality of his work is second to none. I liked Michael's work (and attitude) so much, that a few years later, I asked him to photograph my military retirement. If you want your memories to last for a lifetime, then you want the best, and the best is Michael.

Ive known Michael for many years now and wouldnt want anyone else to be my photographer! Hes taken my family portraits to my children's prom pictures and everything in between. The way he captures the natural light is amazing! Am I a bit bias, yes and you will be too when you see his work!

I commissioned Michael to take custom portraits in White Sands National Monument and was thrilled with the results. His professional demeanor and easy going attitude made me feel comfortable through our entire shoot. My family and I were so impressed with my portrait that we hired Michael to do graduation photos for my brother. He brought all his studio gear to our house and was prepared for both indoor and outdoor shots. I highly recommend Michael Watkins, whatever your needs may be.
