I can’t say enough great things about Padraig and the progress he’s made with my dog. From day one, he showed an incredible level of patience, skill, and understanding—not just with my dog, but with me as an owner learning how to be more effective and confident. Padraig takes the time to explain his methods, making every session feel purposeful and productive. We hired Padraig because Teddy was struggling with serious aggression issues, including resource guarding and reactivity towards other dogs and children. During the first visit, Padraig brought two dogs to properly assess Teddy's reactions, and we were incredibly relieved to learn that Teddy was actually highly anxious and fearful, not truly aggressive—a diagnostic clarity that made all the difference since we had been considering adoption. Padraig's clear approach, which focused on correcting poor behavior using specific techniques and proper equipment, was effective immediately. His training was comprehensive: he provided concrete, effective recommendations for every behavior issue we faced, from excessive barking and food begging to correcting habits like licking and managing the use of furniture (teaching us that he should remain on the ground). We also learned the immense value of utilizing the crate and consistent socialization to all kinds of environments to solve many underlying issues. After just the first session, Teddy is calmer, more responsive to cues, and walks better than before. I would highly recommend him to any dog owner who is having issues with their dog. He is probably the best dog trainer we have in the DMV area.

We can’t say enough about how great our experience with Padraig and Cerberus has been. He is not just knowledgeable about dogs and animal behavior, but a true expert (he has a PhD in this from Cambridge!!). Our 5 month old puppy (Doug) needed a lot of work for social anxiety, crate training, potty training, and general obedience. One week with Padraig, and Doug came back more confident, a better listener, a great sitter/walker, and ready to learn from us. Padraig checks in with us regularly, even after the initial week of training, to give us tips and pointers, plus he will make several additional visits to our home to make sure Doug is successful at being “the very best boy!” It is very evident that dogs and training are Padraig’s passion - and a true gift. Doug is doing so well, we will continue working with Padraig to train Doug to be a service dog and make visits to hospitals and nursing homes. 💕
