FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. For online counseling it is 50.00.The session is 50 minutes and the payment is done through Paypal or Chase quick pay. The session are paid for in advance. I do offer a credit for missed session but no refunds.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before the first session I have the clients send me their background information. It is important to understand the context of their issues. I ask that they fill me in on their strengths and history. I want to know their cultural and ethical values. All this is done through email so that I have time to think about solutions and strategies before the session. The most important thing that I want my clients to know that I come prepared for every session. Because I care I never will schedule a session until I am thoroughly prepared. In my opinion it is unethical to waste the client's time and money getting background information during the session which can be easily be gathered before hand.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters in marriage and family counseling from Syracuse university I was trained in family systems. I received my master's in social work from Wurzweiler school of social work.I took extensive training in hypnotherapy and N.L.P. I specialize in adult trauma resulting from failed marriages or death of a spouse. I studied in a theological seminary. I took many many courses in grief and bereavement issues. The seminary training has helped keep the couples counseling anchored in spirituality. I draw upon the work of Robert Cialdini and his innovative books and videos on the "psychology of persuasion"
