FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs that I do for my clients include dog walking, pet transport services, and house and pet sitting. I specialize in the needs of owners and their pets, so if the owner has a particular need, I will try to accommodate them. I am fairly flexible with my schedule and able to make daily visits to the owner's residence or even stay overnight if needed. I own and love several pets and don't really have the space to board dogs or cats in my home, however, I will consider small pets such as exotics or birds. In addition to general pet care, if I am visiting the owner's house on a daily basis, I will also collect the mail and newspaper, open and close the curtains, turn on and off lights, and water plants. I am respectful of the owner's home and belongings. I also will clean up pet waste in the yard. My pet care is tailored to the needs of the owner and their animals, so no jobs are ever alike.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers knew my profession is not an easy job. Some people are under the impression that pet care involves just the basics of food, water, and bathroom, but there is so much more to properly caring for animals, especially for someone elses. All pets are unique and have different needs, as well as personalities and behaviors. Not all are trained and friendly either. Being a pet care provider requires lots of love, patience, and kindness, as well as physical strength. It can be difficult to hold onto a dog who wants to drag you down the street during a walk. Although pet care can be a difficult job at times, it is also very rewarding.
