FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge by the project, and I provide a detailed written estimate that outlines everything included so there are no hidden fees. This means if a project takes longer than expected, you still pay the same price and there are no surprise costs. If you request any add ons or changes during the project, I will create a separate updated quote for you to review and approve before anything is added. For longer or open ended projects, I can charge hourly if preferred. This can be helpful when the scope may change as the work progresses, or when clients want flexibility and full transparency on time spent.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For smaller projects like a single room or simple repaint, I can usually provide an estimate over the phone or through email as long as I have accurate measurements and clear photos. For larger or more detailed work, I am happy to come by and provide a free in person quote. This allows me to look at the space, understand your goals, and make sure the estimate is accurate and tailored to your project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
graduated from the University of Maine, and during that time I discovered how much I loved hands on work. I began working for a female contractor who taught me the foundations of carpentry, painting, and project prep. I later trained with a professional painter and completed an apprenticeship in tiling, which gave me a strong mix of practical skills and real job experience.
