He was running late and contacted me to let me know. He had equipment to diagnose the refrigerator except the coolant. He is not licensed in Maine for that he told me. He knew what to look for, tested the culprits and found the cause for the coil freezing solid. He gave me the part number so I could order it. I will either install it myself or call him. Cordial and a careful listener to our observations of what was wrong.

Robert was able to fix somethings, but left other projects undone. He was good with some painting and sanding jobs around the house. He also did a good job insulating a front door that was allowing in insects. He also installed a motion sensor light that was broken by another Thumbtack service provider. He claimed to have plenty of experience installing dishwashers and we were hopeful he could install ours. However, after coming back at least 2x to do this because he forgot some parts, the dishwasher was left poorly installed and a professional dishwasher installation servicer later verified that they were baffled with how Robert tried to install the dishwasher (which ultimately was left in non-working condition by Robert). Finally, Robert had promised to haul away a large metal cabinet but he never took care of this as he had promised. Overall, we spent $750+ with Robert who had to come from a far distance for 4 separate trips. He is good with painting, sanding, and installing simple items, but not major appliances. And he needs to fulfill all of his promises or just not promise to do things that he can't complete.
