About
Based in Cape Elizabeth and serving nearby communities including South Portland, Portland, Scarborough, and Old Orchard Beach, Garden Guys Landscaping is a growing company built on quality, care, and a strong commitment to the environment. Led by founder Jack Vose, who holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine Orono, our work blends hands-on experience with sustainable practices.
What began as Jack’s summer side job in high school—with just an SUV, a trailer, and a mower—has grown into a dedicated team offering year-round landscaping services. We provide weekly lawn mowing, seasonal cleanups, garden maintenance, mulch installation, landscape design, and snow removal with attention to detail and a focus on long-term results.
At Garden Guys, we believe landscaping should enhance your property while respecting the natural environment. Whether we’re maintaining a coastal lawn or installing a new planting bed, our goal is to create spaces that are both practical and beautiful.
Let us help you shape an outdoor space that fits your needs and reflects the character of where you live.

As a pregnant couple needing various landscaping and snow services, in a pinch they were on it for us. Glad to do business with folks like that and give them my highest recommendation. Tons of communication and expectation setting even during a snow storm is not only helpful for us, but shows the high standards and professionalism that has us sleeping well knowing we have partners for our expanding family and home!
Details: I need plowing now and for the rest of the season • I do not need salt and de-icing • Driveway • Less than 500 sq ft (~2 car driveway) • Flat • I just need snow plowing for my residence

Garden Guys are incredibly professional and we were so grateful for their hard work. They finished a hardscaping job so much quicker than we expected and we were so happy with the results.

Ive been using Garden Guys for the past year or so at my house and am very impressed by their service. Jack is very communicative and every person that comes to do work is always professional and the work, whether it be mowing or mulching, is always done to a high standard. I cannot recommend Garden Guys enough

I am really pleased with the work Garden Guys recently did for me when removing 13 shrubs from my property. They did a great job and were tidy and respectful. Jack, the owner, is easy to communicate with and his prices are very fair. I have also hired Garden Guys to do my mowing for the upcoming season and and may use them for spring and fall cleanups as well. Definitely recommend giving them a try.
Details: Home • Every 2 weeks • 1,000 - 5,000 sq ft • Standard (up to 6 in) • Mulch • No, I don't need to be there

Jack of the Garden Guys was just great! He rescheduled a few times due to various factors, but arrived today at 6am and went right to work on our project. It looks great and we plan to hire him next spring for other small landscaping projects. He was very professional and hard-working.
Details: Larger projects in current landscape (e.g. plant trees, install sprinkler) • Plant trees or shrubs • Remove trees or shrubs • Apply mulch • Remove tree stump(s) • Front yard • No, one-time project • Home

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We keep our pricing fair and competitive, but every property is different, so we don’t use one-size-fits-all pricing. Instead, we typically visit the property and provide a written estimate based on the size, layout, and scope of work.
This helps ensure the price is accurate and there are no surprises later. We occasionally offer seasonal promotions as well, so feel free to ask if anything is currently available.
Our goal is simple: provide reliable, high-quality work at a price that makes sense for your property.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a site visit so we can walk the property with you and understand your goals. This allows us to see the layout firsthand, discuss ideas, and identify any potential challenges.
After the visit, we prepare a detailed written estimate and, when needed, a design plan. We’re happy to adjust the plan based on your feedback to make sure everything aligns with your vision.
Once the scope is approved, we schedule the work and keep communication clear throughout the project so you always know what to expect.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine in Orono, which gives me a strong background in sustainable landscape practices and responsible site management.
That training helps guide many of the decisions we make in the field, from soil health and drainage to environmentally responsible lawn treatments and planting choices.
We also enjoy designing pollinator-friendly gardens that support birds, bees, and other beneficial species, creating landscapes that are both beautiful and good for the local ecosystem.
