We are absolutely thrilled with Brooke's work, and we cried happy tears as we watched the slideshow of pictures for the first time. We asked Brooke to photograph our one-year old daughter, and the photos captured everything about her at that moment in time yet are timeless...they are full of life yet wonderfully simple. Brooke met us at our home and used natural light for all of the photos. She made us feel comfortable and relaxed, and we now have wonderfully genuine pictures of our daughter. We will forever feel connected to this precious stage of her life. Brooke is a truly gifted and skilled photographer and I am so thankful to have found her! My husband and I highly recommend Atelier=Studio as the clear choice for any photography need!

I reached out to Rebekah at the last minute while very pregnant in hopes to snag some maternity photos. She was responsive, found a time that worked for both of us, and provided me with some of the most beautiful photos I currently own of myself and my older daughter. She has a talented eye and she did exactly what I needed from her, to direct us into the photos/poses with ease and comfort so she could get the shot she was intending.

Witt Web Design was able to jump right in and make it happen when my web page needed to be improved. They were able to accommodate a rush project and understood my needs. Witt communicated clearly, collaborative and responded quickly. Now, the site is up & running & it looks great. And just as importantly, they made it clear they are available for any refreshes I may need in the future. Recommended!

I don't think there are many who do the breadth of what I do: a wide range of art, a wide range of design and a wide range of letterpress and book arts. But beyond that, I have a knack for interviewing clients and understand the essence of the visual problems that face them and their businesses and with lateral thinking techniques, I can arrive at a wide range of solutions.

Hi! I'm Wendy, and I am the boss at Soggy Dog Designs. I love coffee, retro chromey cool and colorful stuff, anything I can paint with bright colors, my crazy kids, your crazy kids, soggy dogs, and unique names that may not make too much sense. I am all about grabbing life as it happens and making it stick in what I hope are photos that you will love and enjoy forever. Life is significant and fun, and honestly, I think your photos should be, too.

We are design and building services/contractors with a focus on lake and oceanfront properties in Maine. We first design the proposed property, permit and then bid on the design. If we win the bid, the design fee is subtracted from the bid. An average design cost for under 5,000-sq-ft project is $5,250.00 plus expenses related to assignment.

As an artist I am very versatile! I wear many hats in the creative field and that makes me a more marketable artist. I also love what I do. No job is ever too small. I love a challenge that gets my creative juices flowing. I have a strong work ethic and constantly keep my clients in the loop. I keep in touch so that the client knows if I have started the project, how much longer it's expected to take and if I'm having an issue that will delay the expected time of delivery I am always upfront about it.

A face in the portrait, to some, is just another face in the portrait. To me, a face in the portrait tells a story and lets you imagine what they see through your eyes.

I design and draft homes, renovations and additions. I am familiar with codes and energy efficiency. I have 20 years of experience. I listen and serve.

Analytics and accountability is the biggest difference you get with me. In order to make the best decisions for your business we need to measure and make changes based on data. By using data to guide decisions, we are always moving the needle in the right direction for success.

I am currently a graphic design student at Central Maine Community College. I'm currently only doing logos. I'm interested in potentially taking on clients for practice purposes, and I am willing to do simple logos. If you do commission, me please keep in mind that I am a full-time college student with a part-time job. I may take a bit longer to finish your commission. If you need the logo now, I may not be the best option. I charge lower amounts due to my inexperience, and I offer a refund if you aren't satisfied!

We do creative consulting, including: * graphic design of all print materials * printing * web development * photography

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

What should you look for in a website designer?

A professional web designer creates the look and feel of your website, collaborating with you to choose colors, creating logos and other branding materials, establishing page layouts, and creating sample pages. An important part of web design is making sure the site is functional, meets your goals, and is easy for users to navigate. When you’re looking to hire a web designer, start by reviewing the person’s portfolio. Look for samples of work that match what you envision for your website, including experience building the types of pages or features you want. Make sure the web designer is familiar with your industry and understands both industry trends and web design trends — an old-fashioned or out-of-touch site will turn customers away rather than intrigue them.

Because web designers tend to work as freelancers on a project basis, they must be excellent communicators, willing to manage their own work, and available on your schedule. Some critical skills, such as working collaboratively and responding enthusiastically to feedback, aren’t core to good web design, but make working with a web designer much easier. Finally, look for a web designer who has cross-functional knowledge, such as understanding marketing and conversion rate optimization in addition to web design.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

  • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
  • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
  • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

  • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
  • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
  • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
    • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
    • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
    • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
    • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.

How do you hire a web designer?

You’ve determined that the best way to create a professional, modern, mobile-friendly new website is to hire a professional web designer to build it. To hire the best person for the job — and to get the web design that best fits your company’s identity — it’s important to ask a few key questions:

  • What’s the scope of the work? Will the website be basic with just a few pages about your company, its services, and contact information? Or will it also have an e-commerce section for online shopping, a blog, or content for visitors to download? Before you hire a web designer, make sure you have a thorough, specific list of the components you must have the designer include in the web design.
  • What do you want your website to look like? Consider websites that are similar to the one you’d like to build, ideally in the same industry or serving similar types of customers. Build a set of examples of types of pages, design aspects, and website features that you can hand off to the web designer — the person you hire should have experience creating websites with the features you want. If they don’t have the right skill set, they’re not the right pro for you.
  • What’s the web designer’s start-to-finish process? What will the final deliverable be? Before you hire someone, make sure their availability works with your timeline and that their process meets your expectations. Most important is finding a web designer who will work collaboratively with you to create a successful online presence.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
