Kent W. Peterson
About this pro
Kent and his team exceeded our expectations in the process of installing replacement windows throughout the upper level of our home. The quality of their work was impeccable and when they were finished, their cleanup was very thorough. One of the windows being replaced was unusual and tricky to install, but Kent made it look easy. The finish work on the inside and outside of the home is excellent. We will call on Kent again for future projects in our home.Oct 27, 2017Kent W. P.'s reply
Thank you Beth and Mike for the great review and for having us over to put in your 400 Series Andersen Windows. Working at your house and with you was a very easy going experience. You picked a great window to replace your old ones with. You have a really nice house and have a really nice family. The Carbonara you made smelled so good, and we were so happy when you brought some out for us. :) We would be very happy to come back and help you on any projects you need to have done in the future. Thanks so much for the job. Kent
Kent was super responsive and communicative from the get go. He was even willing to fit us in to his busy summer schedule (on a Saturday!) when our original carpenter fell through. We wanted to add crown molding and bead board details to our kitchen cupboards along with some simple quarter round in another small room, and Kent and Dave were so detail-oriented the entire project. Plus, they were super friendly and a pleasure to spend the day with. My husband likes to watch and learn from professionals and they both were more than willing to let him do so and even taught him along the way. We'll be hiring Kent again in the future and feel lucky to have found him.Jul 9, 2017VerifiedKent W. P.'s reply
Thanks for the review Merrill, working with you and your husband was pure joy. Your dogs were nice too. We hadn't put up crown in quite a while so thanks for the opportunity to do so. Good luck with the rest of your project and call on us anytime. Kent

- How did you get started doing this type of work?I never knew that building that tree fort when I was a kid was going to lead me to be a carpenter. My brothers and I, along with some kids from the neighborhood, built a three story tree fort from wood that we found at a friend's house. The wood had nails in it, so we pulled them out and straightened them, then used them to build the fort! Later on when I was 19, and a ski bum out in Colorado, I got a labor job building a warming lodge in Crested Butte. I saw how much fun the carpenters were having pounding nails and working with the wood that I said "that's what I want to do!" I always thought I was going to be a Park Ranger in Glacier National Park!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?As far as repairs are concerned, when you first see a problem with your home call me right away. Usually the longer you wait the worse it gets. A lot of the time the problem can be fixed for a lot less money when you get in on it from the very start of the problem. If you have a remodeling project in mind, have me come over and walk through it with you. If you have plans (blue prints) it makes the estimating much easier. You can get pictures from magazines or the Internet to show me how you would like it to look. Shortly after we meet, I will call you back with a budget. Take your time discussing the estimate I give you and let me know your thoughts. Make sure to call me back even if I'm not the contractor that you choose. It makes all the difference for me when you follow through on the last step. Feedback is everything!
