William constructed a new deck for us and we couldn’t be happier with the service. His knowledge and advice helped us select the best materials in our price range. When selecting from different material options, the costs were always presented honestly and without any hidden fees or additional pricing. In the end, the quoted cost is what we paid. There was no bait and switch or arguing over what was promised and what was delivered. The whole project went smoothly and the end result was exactly as expected. I will recommend him to all friends and/or family looking to have work done.

Bruce Construction did an excellent job remodeling our staircase. It was a job messed up by a prior contractor so there was a lot of difficult detail involved, but William was meticulous and it turned out exactly like we wanted. Throughout the process he communicated well, was extremely responsive and showed up every day until the job was done. Highly recommend this contractor.

For work done in the Toledo area, they do not tell you in advance that they will be billing you for two hours of travel time per person, per day just to come from Michigan to the job site (profile says Toledo area). I was told that if they knew that the job was in Toledo that they never would have taken it, yet they had the project address the week prior. Day one they showed up late (10:30am) and left early (2:00pm). This day produced little work, as it consisted of travel time, talking about the project, shopping for additional materials and work on someone else’s project. I never anticipated being billed for the entire day. On day two, the project was left only partially finished and now another contractor will need to be hired. They also wanted paid in full in advance to which a payment was provided in the form of a check. The check was cashed on day one but I received complaints from the owner that his bank holds all checks for two days so technically he wasn’t paid. I cannot recommend this company for work in the Toledo Ohio area. Shop for a local contractor instead.

Hi Clayton I apologize for the miscommunication. I did my best to explain to you what was done and even broke down the costs. I also advocated right away about working with someone licensed in your area and you assured me it was no issue and just needed it done asap. You had notched out and cut through multiple floor joists below your second floor to run plumbing. This severely weakened your entire floor and would have eventually collapsed. You also didn’t want me to properly fix the issue since you had didn’t want to redo plumbing and the shower pans that was already set in thinset. Even tho I pointed out that the floor was already sagging over an inch in a 6’ span. Your “3 hr job” was definitely more than you expected. I did advise you that I would charge for going to get materials which you choose to get yourself prior to save time. However, you got the wrong materials. Then asked that I go get them from Menards that was almost 25 min from project, one way. I had really hoped I left you with a more comprehensive look at your situation and still fully advocated to use ppl licensed in your area. This includes plumbing and electrical as from the things I seen and pointed out you did, were not up to code. Seeing as you wanted to rent this out, pls get those issues addressed as well cause you may cause serious harm to your future tenants. I hope you have a happy holiday season.

Started in construction at 19-20 yrs old. Had no idea what I was doing, but the satisfaction I had after completing the first project I was on was awesome. Just knowing I had a hand in help building this project ( church) was extremely gratifying. Been doing it ever since.
