Eli Tuco says, "Could you envision a cracked galvanized water pipe in the basement of a century old house without insulation, inhabited by an elderly person with limited mobility, and heated by a steam boiler with an outside temperature of 14 degrees Fahrenheit and falling? It was 7:00 pm, and I had been calling plumbers since 1:00 pm when water appeared on my basement floor. I immediately shut off the main water valve which deactivated the boiler and eventually precipitated an inside temperature drop to 25 degrees. Promises were made that someone, out of the three plumbers called, would address my issue within three hours. As I sat blanketed in front of my gas oven fearing that all my pipes would burst, I found another plumber online and called, related my dire circumstances; and he, like others, assured an imminent visit, which I didn't believe. I concluded that no one would show until the next day and find me nonresponsive. However, at about 8:30 pm, someone engaged my doorbell. It took me a few minutes to erect myself from partial frigidity as I yelled, "I'm coming!" Mr. Cameron Ross actually kept his word. Within 45 minutes, I reactivated my tired old boiler. Mr. Ross' competence in replacing my pipe was expected -- he's a plumber -- but keeping his word to show up wasn't; and this was not an anomaly. In the summer, a federal judge friend of mine had heard some rattling and thumping emanating from her sump pump. Upon investigation, she noticed water filling to the top of the pump, spillage of which would have destroyed her carpeted flooring if not addressed quickly. Having a home warranty, she contacted a rep who said the earliest someone could arrive would be the next day. Having told her about my near catastrophe prompted her to call me. I contacted Mr. Ross, who again was busy with other customers. After I explained her situation, he promised one of his crew members, also working on a job, would prioritize her Dearborn home next. That was last year, and not a drop of water saturated a fiber of her carpet. Suffice it to say, she was tremendously pleased. In conclusion, selfishness has precluded me from sharing my very positive interaction online regarding Mr. Ross and his crew since I have an old house with many issues and wanted his exclusive availability; and I am not apologizing."See more
