I can't really say enough good things about working with Marty & Suzanne of Northstarr Remodeling & Restoration. From my experience working with them, they are consumate professionals and very detail-oriented, which was important for me. From their designs, innovation, and the results, its hard to find a better remodeling and restoration company than them in this area.Their customer service has been impeccable as well, they are always so responsive and you can just tell that they really take a lot of pride in their craft and what they hope to accomplish for their customers. From my experience, I dont understand the negative reviews, sometimes a job is just not a good fit, but to try and trash an honest companys reputation because of that? Shameful.I would recommend Northstarr Remodeling & Restoration, and will definitely call upon them for my next remodeling project when Im ready for that. Two thumbs up!

Northstarr Builders gave our kitchen a complete overhaul. The new cabinets, flooring, and backsplash came out great. The workers were very professional and took great care to make sure we had open lines of communication throughout the whole process. I would recommend them to anyone looking for any type of home improvement project.

Mr. Johnson talks of professionalism and integrity on his site about himself and his company, but don't believe a word of it! Aside from dropping my job because he didn't like quoting options or making some changes (I might add that were due to them not properly planning the job in the first place), I have now been chasing him for 6 months to get a simple refund owing.After ignoring me for months and refusing to communicate, I went to BBB (whom he has also ignored) the last month. Now it is seeming I need to go to small claims court, and then who knows after that to resolve an issue that shouldn't even be a dispute! He has his money back for permits and fees he says he spent which he tells me is the reason he withheld the funds!?If you have any shred of integrity and decency Mr. Johnson, you will do what is right and refund the downpayment money you withheld from me that Waterford Twp. has already refunded to you (thanks to me). All has been confirmed with the Twp and is indisputable.Anyone reading this or researching this Company, do yourself a favor and do NOT deal with Northstarr Builders. You will likely regret it as I have. They do not deserve to be in business.

After obtaining the initial permit and diligently preparing for the agreed-upon construction, a series of changes were requested, each necessitating a re-approval process. Upon your third request for alterations, we communicated the need for another permit re-approval, which unfortunately led to a challenging and confrontational situation on your end. Regrettably, the escalation of emotions and behavior, as witnessed by our team and directed towards our team, prompted the decision to discontinue the project on that day. In adherence to our principles, we returned your deposit after deducting the non-refundable application fees associated with the two permits obtained. We genuinely regret any negative feelings this situation may have caused and affirm our commitment to professionalism in every project. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

It's not complicated. I come out and inspect the project and/or plans and create a quote within 48 hours. I'm friendly and professional, licensed and insured.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have to recertify my license every 3 years. I am a member of the Home Builders Association and will attend the convention in Las Vegas in January. I have 2 full days of classes to attend and am excited to see what's new and cutting edge.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I come from a building family. I taught school for many years and always missed construction. As the economy in Michigan began to get better I retired from teaching and now I run my company full time.
