I want to add some context to this review for anyone reading it. The pricing I gave was based on the scope of work as it was described to me. Over the course of the conversation, the scope was scaled back several times, and I adjusted my quote down each time to match. However, this happened in a repeating cycle — after the price came down, the scope would then be restated at its original, larger size, only to be scaled back again once a new price was given. This pattern repeated three or four times during the conversation. My final quote reflected the most recently stated scope of work at the time. I also want to correct the figure stated in this review. My minimum is $200, not $250. The additional $50 mentioned was a separate landfill disposal fee for items being dumped, which I explained clearly and repeated multiple times during the conversation. It's also worth noting that I'm a handyman, not a moving company. Moving some items was only one part of this job — comparing my rate directly to an hourly moving company rate isn't an accurate comparison of the service being provided. My rates reflect the full scope of the work I do, along with insurance, reliability, and consistent quality, and are in line with (or below) many local providers. I also want to directly address the claim that I was unable to physically complete a mirror-hanging job about a year ago. That project was completed successfully, and I received positive feedback on it at the time. I brought that job up myself during this most recent conversation, which appears to be where this reference came from — it was not something that was raised independently. For additional context, I've since completed other solo jobs requiring similar or greater physical demands, including hanging a 65-inch TV last month. Ultimately, my services were not hired for this job. Getting multiple quotes before choosing a contractor is standard practice, and a price not fitting a customer's budget doesn't mean it was unfair or inflated — it simply may not have been the right fit for this particular job. I was respectful and professional throughout the call and stand behind both my pricing and my work.
