- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$90 per hour for service such as drain rooting or cleaning mostly any job less than one day, $75 per hour if disability handicapped, senior 62+, current military or veteran or police. Travel time plus mileage less 15 free miles and 1/4 hour. Jobs requiring more than 1 person will cost an added $40 per hour/ per worker with a minimum of 4 hours per day. Construction work is based upon contract and all costs related as per plans. Excavation backhoe work is $150 per hour on machine hour meter plus other labor hours and any other costs from trucking, dump charges etc. Example of cost 10 hours on meter in 5 days = $1500 for operation of backhoe with operator, plus other costs and getting equipment to site. Quotes for larger projects must be drawn and approved by local building authority before I can do a quote, plans must include all details of project and material list, the charge is $100 per page for the quote with half in advance, balance on delivery. Refund if quote not delivered in time or opt out of bidding. Require 2 weeks for quoting a project. I only recently raised my hourly rate and only by $5 after more than 7 years.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Service mostly, pay on completion of service. Larger jobs such as homes, additions, garages, pole buildings, swimming pools are by quote with approved plans fee is $100 per page of plans, must include list of materials for accurate bidding.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mostly worked for other contractors, builders and plumbers for several years with a lot of mechanical experience starting very young.
