FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My piano teacher Marilyn Saluka inspired me to surpass 'good' and go straight for 'great!' Because of her passion for music and the confidence that she helped nurture in me at a very young age (I began lessons when I was 8 years old), I found myself playing Classical Piano Duets with her in front of almost 250 people audiences by the time I was 11. After years spent gigging with bands, working behind the scenes in the live music industry, and also working in Motown Studios (and many others), I found myself drawn to mentoring. Thus, I now 'pay forward' the grand tradition that my teacher bestowed upon me back in my youth.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Mentoring and/or advising my students and their families about music, and instruments.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Last spring, as a part of the senior graduation ceremony, two of my students worked on a 'Heavy Metal' version of a select medley of Classical Music's greatest hits! They received a roaring applause, and my favorite part was the two-handed tapping version of Mozart's 'The Magic Flute: Overture'. It really brought the house down.
