He'd then provide me with a no-nonsense rundown of what he intended to complete that day, and then immediately get to it. Each day, he provided courteous estimates of when he'd be done, giving me more than enough time to head back to the house, inspect the work, and lock up after him.

When it came time to cut him a check, he had original receipts of all the materials he'd purchased, all of which was clearly reflected in the final cost of the project. When I had a question, he had an answer. Before he was even on the clock, he aided me in removing hinges from my fridge and in moving my stove, yet didn't ask for a single dime more.
Oh, and the kitchen floor? It looks terrific. Connor's got hands steadier than a heart surgeon when it comes to laying tile, and that skill is reflected in the impeccable quality of the final result. As is plainly visible in the photos, my kitchen looked somewhat ghastly before he came to fix it up, and now it's the highlight of the house!
