Hi - I’m Caitlin! An Anoka, Minnesota (Twin Cities) based makeup artist, and mother to a beautiful little girl. I am a graduate of the Minnesota School of Cosmetology and bring nearly nine years of experience in the beauty industry. I specialize in bridal, photoshoot, and special occasion makeup artistry.
My beauty career began by accident after being placed in a fashion and cosmetology course that at the time, I had no interest in. This disinterest was due to a struggle to find products that worked for me. Reluctantly I stayed in the course and after just three days I was in love with the beauty industry. Learning the core basics of beauty such as skin tones, types and conditions created a greater understanding and kick-started my passion for makeup.
In 2013 I began working at a beauty retailer selling products and providing makeup services. Often I would be asked to provide makeup for special occasions. So, I decided to open up my own business! It’s then that Makeup by Caitlin was born.
My style can be described as timeless, clean, and feminine. The goal always being to enhance your already beautiful features while giving the gift of feeling glamorous. To make you feel your most confident self. One of the most important things to me is creating a calm and fun atmosphere.
It’s an absolute honor to work with my clients on some of the most special days of their lives, and I look forward to working with you!

Caitlin is not only an amazing, detailed make up artist but shes also an all around amazing person to work with! She was so kind to me and my wedding party and helped make the morning before our wedding a great time. She gave me the perfect bridal makeup that looked gorgeous, photographed well, and lasted over 12 hours! I seriously cannot recommend Caitlin enough. Also, if you're looking for hair styling, her cousin Sam is just as attentive and kind!

Caitlin is extremely professional and kind-hearted, and has a way to make people feel at ease. She started by showing me her portfolio of people whose makeup she has done, and then asked a few questions as to what I was really looking for, and we looked at pictures and talked until we had come to an agreement! She let me give feedback and look at myself throughout the process to make sure we were on the same page. She did my makeup and my hair. Overall it was a great experience and I was gorgeous afterwards!!

Caitlyn was absolutely amazing! She was on time and got started right away. My wedding party changed their mind on things at the last moment and she went with the flow without complaint! The makeup she did for me was flawless and still looked amazing the next morning!!!
I am definitely going to recommend her to anyone who is needing their makeup done in the area!!

Caitlin did my wedding makeup for myself and my bridal party and I was so in love! She did an amazing job capturing the look each girl wanted, and even traveled to us. My makeup lasted through my whole day of crying and dancing, I would definitely recommend her for any makeup needs!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In my pricing I include a full face of makeup using long wear, waterproof and HD cosmetics.
False lashes are included.
Local travel is included.
I do offer discount packages for parties/ groups.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After I am contacted, the client and I work together to create the process (consultation, trial, day of)
Next is a consultation or trial .
I get to know the client / clients and we work together to create their makeup vision.
Day of the event.
I arrive. I set up for the event and then for each person I take at least 25 minutes to create the look they envisioned.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed esthetician.
Through working in the beauty industry 7 years I have worked with over 40+ brands (sales and application) and even more outside of companies I have worked for.
I believe the variety of products I have used has allowed me to continue to build and perfect my artist kit.
I have also been fortunate enough to be trained through a master class by the master artist, Mario Dedivanovic (most known for being Kim Kardashians makeup artist), TWICE.
I have a very diverse background of training.
I have been trained through theatre involvement how to do theatre makeup. I have some training through college courses.
