Basement Finishing or Remodeling
Contractor came to our home and looked at our basement, it is a re-finish our ~ 1500 sqft basement. When he arrived stated the job is smaller than he thought and looked around. He looked all over the main floor also, which we thought was strange, and was picking the construction details of the house apart. We felt like we live in a 5,000 sqft crappy house by the time he left, but chalked it up to him particular, which maybe was good thing. Followed up after the bid and he stated that Thumbtack notified him (not sure how) that we selected a contractor so he threw all of our stuff in the garbage. I told him that was not the case and still would like the numbers. He did not respond again. We are left with no numbers and a complete waste of time for his visit.Sep 3, 2018VerifiedEdvenson Homes, Inc.'s reply
I apologize to John and his family for the less than perfect experience. I did visit his house to look at the project We talked for just over an hour and gathered all the needed info to put a proposal together. About 6 days later I recieved a notice from Thumbtack that John had hired a contractor. I took all the info and recycled it. For me the job was over. A few days later John contacted me asking for the proposal. I explained what had happened and wished him well with the project. He did contact me again asking if I was still interested. I did not respond and I am sorry for not doing so.

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am learning every day. I take continuing education classes that are required to maintain my contractors license. I read remodeling magazines and books along with watching This Old House, HGTV and the DIY network. I also spend countless hours attending the spring and fall Parade of Homes looking at hundreds of homes for new ideas.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? When I was 10 years old I helped my dad finish our basement and loved it. I also took a drafting class in 7th grade and was hooked.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I finish basements. That involves all aspects of design and construction. We can replace or add windows and doors or move load bearing walls. We also upgrade rooms upstairs with new cabinets, granite, light fixtures, paint, ceramic and flooring.
