FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am happy to meet with you and your canine before we decide to do business and that is FREE. I believe training is a partnership between families and their fur kids. After our initial meeting private in home training rates apply. Group classes are scheduled throughout the year and you can join our mailing list.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a free phone call and get to know you and your dog better. I will ask about what you love about your dog and what frustrates you. Then we will set up a time that works for both of us and I will travel to your home to work with your dog. In our conversation I will discover what motivates your dog as all the training I do is based on Positive Reinforcement. You will be surprised how much your fur friend can learn and change in just one lesson. After the first lesson, there will be no pressure to continue to on to a next lesson, but many times people love it so much and dogs have so much fun you will want to continue training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since 1978, I have trained and raised Standard Poodles (mine are not the foofy kind, more like German Shepherds in muppet gear). I joined Dog Scouts in 2005 and began researching Positive Reinforcement, graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2008, and worked as the mentor/senior trainer for Petco Brooklyn Park from 2009-2016 training their dog trainers. In March 2016 I stepped out on my own to be able to do in home training.
