FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Free on-site estimates. After the estimate is complete and accepted, all on-site labor of garden install is performed at a $40/HR rate: soil prep, weeding, mulching, planting, transplanting, pruning, edging, etc. All time spent on garden design, plant shopping, and yard waste disposal is complementary. For those that need help in designing a garden and wish to do the labor themselves, designs can be offered at $55 per garden bed (beds less than 1,000 sq ft).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will arrive on site and listen to your wants and needs for function, color scheme, size, bloom time, garden style, and favorite plants. I can help you identify your preferred garden styles and flowers if you're unsure. Within 72 hours of the site tour, you will receive a powerpoint with selected plants- images, descriptions, care, and sun exposure- a free hand drawing of the yard design, and the estimate. From there, you decide to hire me or not. Once hired, you then tell me which plants you love, which you don't, what works for you, what doesn't, and I'll make all the necessary edits. I want you to be 100% happy with the final project to a create a space you'll love for years to come. Since I'm only taking on small garden beds on residential plots at this time, jobs can typically be installed in 1 or 2 days, within 2 weeks of the hire.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Completed Minnesota State Horticultural Society/U of M Extension's Landscape Design Basics Workshop/Sustainable Urban Landscape Workshop in Oct 2022. Texa Tonka Community Garden Plot Owner (fruits, vegetables & herbs) from May 2018 to present.
