Ben Erickson, Owner, has been practicing Landscape Architecture in the Twin Cities for over 16 years, first learning the ropes at the office of CLOSE Landscape Architecture until opening b.e landscape designs in 2012. Our garden needed a boost. We live in a townhouse community and didn't need a huge plan. Ben created a plan that was appropriate for the space and our budget. Ben also provided drawings as part of his service, while I was told by other Landscape designers that it would cost extra. Seeing the plan was important to me since it is hard to visualize what the plants will eventually look like. Ben's team was exemplary from prompt arrival to thorough clean up after the project was completed. We highly recommend Ben and his team for any landscape project you may be thinking about.

Ben designed the plan that we had in mind. It was an unique situation ...a sloping floor in a storage area below an addition that was done years ago. The soil was excavated until we had a flat floor. Then they did landscape block work. Carlos and his crew were great. Carlos checked in with us each day to ask us if we had any concerns. The job was done in a timely manner!

Ben and his crew did an amazing job on our landscape project. He had great ideas and helped design an attractive solution to our steep terraced slope. There were some challenges working in a small area transporting big boulders, but everything was handled safely and with creative professionalism. I would recommend him without qualification!

We hired Ben Erickson and his crew to repair a landscaping project that the prior owners of our house had completed several years ago. It was a small but complex project and we were delighted with the professionalism and quality of work that Ben brought to the project.
Our patio area had settled near the new addition on our house, and consequently rainwater flowed toward the house across the stone patio. Obviously this is not good. The complexity was that besides the incorrect slope of the patio due to settlement, we otherwise enjoyed the aesthetics of the patio and the wooden porch. Ben's team was able to re-grade the patio and re-grade the catch basin system to re-direct runoff away from the house, without making any unnecessary and costly changes to the stone patio or wooden porch. As with any house project, oftentimes unexpected challenges present themselves during the course of the project, and Ben and his crew were excellent at problem solving during the project in order to accomplish the goal.
We recommend Ben for other landscaping projects and we plan to use his company for future projects ourselves.

Ben and Carlos were great. We had a project to finish on a tight timeline and needed a quality finish. They installed the rock and landscaping on time, on budget and it looks fantastic. They took it to the next level cleaning up after my garbage man who spilled grass all over our street and replaced a sprinkler head that was faulty. Very professional team, with great work ethics and quality skills.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My first consultation is always free. After the initial meeting I will respond to the client with any fee for design or installation.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would first reach out to the client to see when we could meet to look at, and discuss the scope of the project and any details about the site. After that I would go back and come up with a price for design (if necessary) or installation of the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of MN. I am also licensed by the state of MN to practice in that state.
