FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system. I charge $20 for a thirty minute visit. For dog walks, if the pet and the weather are cooperative we walk the entire time. If we can't walk the entire time we will spend the rest of the visit playing or petting indoors. Other visits such as pet sitting visits might include backyard play, feeding, litter box cleaning, medication administration and fun activities. Shorter or longer visits can be discussed as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally, new clients have been referred to me and given my contact information or found my business listing on Angie's List and have taken the first step and called or emailed me. Then general information is exchanged such as what the client needs (location, frequency, time of day, services needed). Usually clients ask or I volunteer my rate and whether it includes everything the client needs or how we can work toward a potential solution. Next we decide if we should schedule a short complimentary meet & greet. I would visit the client's home to meet them and their pet(s) as well as have them show me their pet's routine, where leashes are kept, dog towels for rainy days and other important stuff. Then all that is left is for the client to decide if they think I would be a great new friend for their pet. Most often this happens at the end of the meet & greet but occasionally the client will want to think it over and let me know at a later time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I simply have 20 years of experience walking and caring for friends' and neighbors' pets. During this time I also worked for two dog walking and pet sitting services before going to work for myself in January 2014.
