FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
General pricing for my services is as follows. However, these numbers are flexible depending on your individual needs and specific services desired. 1 hour visit (cats or single dog) - $20 -Includes walk/play time, feeding/administering medication, cleanup care as desired. Additional dog - $5 Overnight in-your-home stay - $70/night - Includes morning and evening walk/play time, feeding/administering medication as needed, plenty of playtime, late-night care and attention. Transportation fee - varies - Depending on your location, I do sometimes ask for a minimal transportation fee to take care of the cost of driving to you. The transportation fee would also apply if you want me to pick up your pets and take them elsewhere (dog park, etc.) for play time.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common jobs lately have been dog walks and dog sitting, which are always a lot of fun. Usually I do in-home dog care, so I come to the dogs in the comfort of their own home. This allows them to feel comfortable and is usually less stressful on the pups than having them stay in a crowded day care facility or unfamiliar home while their families are away. For my more high-energy dog clients, I like to take a combination brisk walk/run around the neighborhood so they end up running out some energy and can be nice and cuddly when their families return. One of my more recent clients had dogs who weren't comfortable on the leash, so instead of running around the neighborhood, we played fetch around the fenced yard so they could burn some of their anxious energy before bed. I love how all dogs have their own distinctive personalities and everyone cares for the pets in their family differently. I aim to be as flexible as possible so that your pets receive the same standard and consistency of care that you would provide them yourself.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of my favorite jobs was a father and daughter who hired me to help with their two brand new tiny golden retriever puppies. The father was unexpectedly required to travel during the week for work, so I stayed in their home, taking the daughter to school and activities, and helping to give the puppies the attention and training they need when they're young. It was very rewarding to watch the puppies grow from tiny little things to actual functioning dogs in the two months I was there, and I was able to offer training tips and solutions to their misbehavior when they emerged. Since I stayed in their home, the daughter and I were able to work on training together, so then she was able to pass on the knowledge and things we had worked on when her dad returned. Overall, it was just a very fun opportunity watching the puppies grow and learn.
