Betsy's Teaching and Tutoring Service

I have been a classroom teacher and private tutor for thirty-one years. I've taught English reading and writing skills to learners of all ages and levels. I have many years of experience teaching English language learners (ELL/ESL). I am also a licensed Social Studies teacher and have successfully taught History, Political Science and all other areas of social studies to students in middle and high school. In addition, I have taught test taking skills for success on standardized tests from CASAS through TOEFL. For the past twenty-eight years, I have taught English as a Second Language. In this capacity, I have taught reading and writing skills to students from elementary through graduate-school levels, as well as business English and academic writing. I'm passionate about reaching my students so that they feel satisfaction in their accomplishments. I have a warm and approachable teaching style, and have been especially successful in building confidence with students who have had past academic difficulties.
