About
I offer a fifth free lesson for new students. I also offer a $15 30-minute consult for all prospective students! It is important to see if the student/teacher fit is right. My philosophy is that it is my job to speak the student's language, not the other way around! I believe in mutually establishing goals and enabling the student along the path to meet them. I believe that music is the language of emotion; technique enables the musician to communicate in that language.

Barrett Music is an excellent place to get musiclessons. Mr. Barrett has an absolute love for music and can advance the skills of anyone from children to adults with his intricate and passionate lessons. I’ve brought my 4 year old for piano lessons and he sits attentively and has enjoyed everything he has learned so far.

Had my first vocal/piano lesson with Andrew today. He is a fantastic teacher. I was certainly nervous at first but he was able to break though that barrier within seconds. He's very knowledgeable and articulate. Day 1 and I already see immense improvement. I couldnt ask for a better teacher. Definitely looking forward to my future lessons with him. Thank you Andrew!

Andrew really is quite the professional. From knowledge to skill, patience and application, he truly knows how to make each voice be itself. I've had 3 lessons as of writing this, and have seen improvements in comfort with singing, technique, and authenticity in my voice. Cant recommend him enough. He has the head knowledge to back up the skill knowledge and vice versa. Truly a musician of many types and a great teacher!
