FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer all students a short trial lesson to ensure that we will work well together. In this trial lesson, we typically discover the student's learning style, musical tastes, and current skills. This allows me to customize each student's lesson plans going forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's in performance and pedagogy and spent a couple years at my university both teaching community music lessons, and working as an adjunct group piano professor. Once I moved to Minnesota, I worked with multiple music lesson companies before deciding to build my own performing arts studio.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Graduate school gave me teaching opportunities in many formats with students of all ages and skill levels. My pedagogy professor had done work as a music therapist previously, and I fell in love with the psychology behind student learning. I started this business in 2018 as a way to share my love of learning with adults who are seeking greater mastery of their performing arts skills.
