Guitar Lessons

I appreciate Toby’s focus on guitar technique especially as a fellow music teacher. With his guidance, I improved so much in dexterity over 2 weeks which will lay a great foundation for the future. He brings a great deal of experience to the table which shows in each lesson.

Singing Lessons

Katrina is wonderful in encouraging progress and helping you address your fears. I’ve gained serious insight into my ability to perform and feel more confident in myself because of these lessons. If you’re somebody who feels passionately about music but feel like you can’t actively participate because you haven’t dedicated your entire life to the performing arts, you’ll find a safe space to have a voice here!

Katrina is a wonderful teacher! She makes lessons fun, and explains concepts and terms in language that is easy to understand. She’s patient and professional, and I would highly recommend her.

I've been working with Katrina for about six months now. She readily responds to texts, is flexible with last-minute changes, and clearly knows what she's teaching. I had thought my chances of singing were hopeless, but I've already learned many techniques to strengthen and control my voice, increase my range, and tune my ear to discern music better with every lesson. I'm excited to continue learning from Katrina; she is patient and encouraging yet provides constructive feedback and support. She flexibly brings a teaching style to fit my learning style, which is very scientific and analytical, deciphering the mystery of music into parts I can grasp like breath, anatomy, and math, then synthesizes it all back together into art during our lessons. She hopes I'll want to perform some day, and her optimism in me is very welcoming!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer several discount options for students on a budget. Contact me for details!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer all students a free trial lesson to ensure that we will work well together. In this trial lesson, we typically discover the student's learning style, musical tastes, and current skills. This allows me to customize each student's lesson plans going forward.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a master's in performance and pedagogy and spent a couple years at my university both teaching community music lessons, and working as an adjunct group piano professor. Once I moved to Minnesota, I worked with multiple music lesson companies before deciding to build my own performing arts studio.
