During our first session Coach Black said we would identify my why and I thought it would be a simple answer but with every answer I gave he again asked why because most times the answers we give to ourselves are real but they are not touching the true issue. For example, I said I was afraid to end up alone for the rest of my life but what it really came down to was that I did not feel that I was valuable enough for someone to consider dating me in the future. So session one identified that I needed to work on self esteem and focus on the things that I feel make me valuable as a person. Coach Black has been very helpful in identifying my whys and helping me formulate affirmations that I feel are very specific to me. I also appreciate the fact that I never felt judged. He never tells me what I want to hear but it is always what I need to hear, then it is on me to do the work and make the changes.
