Learn to communicate in English with clarity and confidence! I specialize in accent modification and spoken English. Of course, grammar and vocabulary are often a part of this. Our lessons are conducted via Skype or FaceTime, so you can learn from the comfort of your home or office at a time that is convenient for you. Lessons are individual, and tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you're preparing for a job interview, working on a presentation, or just want people to understand you more easily, I can help! Some clients have worked with me for over a year. Others have chosen to have 4 or 5 lessons. It all depends on you and your goals. I love to meet people from all walks of life. Katie is an amazing teacher for me. She went way above and beyond to understand my challenges and create a customized plan for me. I never felt the lessons to be a chore, rather it was a wonderful experience. Katie is a very good teacher. She is always punctual and friendly, always quiet but not boring. Conversely, Katie is very lively and interesting. Finding a teacher who teaches you to understand English acoustically when you are no longer young and have hearing problems was not easy. But with Katie it is going very well! I have been learning English with Katie for 3 months. I like her teaching method very much. During the lessons we play sometimes, sometimes I get homework on grammar and basically we just talk as friends - I tell Katie for example about a book I once read. Or Katie tells me a story and I have to hear it, understand it and retell it. I think this method helps to understand English by ear. Katie always tries to find topics that interest me. I have English classes on Tuesdays. I like my teacher and I love Tuesdays because every English lesson gives me something new and I feel more confident to communicate with people in America. Katie is a very nice person and has great teaching techniques. She's an excellent listener and notices right away what areas I need improvement at, and tailors every lesson accordingly. She always shares additional links to grammar exercises and pronunciation practice on youtube, which I find extremely helpful. Thank you Katie!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is $60 for a 45 minute session. An initial consultation is free, and follow-up practice assignments are included in this fee.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I learn about my customers' goals, and do an evaluation of their spoken English. Together, we create a plan. Each session includes practice exercises to help achieve those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed ESL teacher with a Master's degree in education. I'm also certified as a pronunciation instructor. I have taught ESL for over 20 yers, and have been doing accent modification for the past three years.
