FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We always offer completely free, no-obligation onsite estimates for all garage door repairs and installations. Because there are so many different door systems, sizes, and repair options, it's often difficult to accurately diagnose issues over the phone. That’s why an in-person visit is the best way to assess the situation and provide you with the right solution. We offer a variety of warranty options to fit different needs and budgets, so you can choose the coverage that works best for you. If you're considering a brand-new garage door, the free estimate is especially valuable—we’ll take precise measurements and go over all your options, including design, color, windows, and insulation grade. All of our quotes include tax, labor, tear-down, and disposal of old doors, parts, or openers—no hidden fees or surprise charges. We believe in transparency and are always willing to work with our customers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For all new customers—whether it's a repair or installation estimate—our standard process starts with an onsite visit and a full 29-point inspection of your garage door and opener system. This allows us to thoroughly assess the current condition, identify any issues, and help educate you on the overall health of your system. We also take into account when it was last serviced to better understand what may be needed. After the inspection, we’ll walk you through all available options for repairs or replacements, including our variety of warranty choices to suit different budgets. We never pressure our customers—we believe in empowering you with clear options so you can make the best decision for your home. Once you approve the work, we're often able to complete the job right away onsite. If you’re getting a new door that requires a special order or scheduled installation, we’ll discuss all the details with you during the visit. To keep things simple and eco-friendly, we’re a paperless company—all receipts and invoices are sent directly to your email for your convenience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As Co-Founders of Rise and Shine Garage Doors, we—Josh and Alex—bring over 20 years of experience in the garage door industry and customer service. We’re proud to be IDA (International Door Association) certified, and we hold our entire team to the highest professional standards. Every technician completes an intensive 8-week training program before working in the field. Our hands-on training takes place in one of the only in-house training facilities in Minnesota—our “Go for Greatness” Training Center—where we’re setting a new standard for garage door service and technician excellence. We also have three Master Certified Technicians on staff, each with extensive experience and a commitment to quality. They ensure every repair and installation is done with precision and care. Before any technician steps into your home, they’re fully trained and prepared to handle the job with confidence, professionalism, and the same level of respect and care we would give our own families.
