Introduction: Hi! I'm Elissa Johnson, and I am the founder of On It Organizing! As an experienced organizer, I have a passion for organizing, and I believe that any space can look better with proper organization. I chose the slogan minimize. prioritize. organize. for the company because I believe that any organizational process involves minimizing unwanted or unused things, as well as prioritizing or making room for things that are important to you. I, myself, have found so much freedom in organizing the spaces in my home, and I hope you will too. For me, when my life gets busy, organization is one of the things that gets pushed to the curb. However, it doesn't have to be that way for you! I would love to help you organize a space in your home that needs a little extra care and attention. I hope you choose to invite me along with you in your organizational journey.

You would be CRAZY not to hire Elissa. I’m selfishly hesitant to write an honest review as I selfishly want to keep Elissa all to myself! On it Organizing was hired to help maintain a homeschool playroom. Not only has Elissa taken a dumping ground and turned it into complete gold. She’s taken the time to truly understand our unique goals and sets out to achieve custom organization every time she sets foot in our home. We’ve used other organizers from Thumbtack in the past who don’t take the time to understand what makes our home unique and we’ve been disappointed with with the results of OTHER unnamed organizers. Elissa & On It Organizing has earned a permanent reoccurring role in helping our family maintain and organize our lives. She’s professional, delivers ABOVE and BEYOND, she’s punctual and is consistent with her commitments. Anyone considering organizing would be lucky to have Elissa. Elissa, you are like therapy to my soul. Thank you for all that you do for us and we will see you again really really soon.

Details: Space planning • Less than 500 sq ft • Unorganized

Elissa is wonderful! She came into my classroom as I prepared to begin my year and organized a very disorganized closet that my students and I use all the time. Primarily, the space is used to keep toys and games. Elissa came in prepared and made the space usable not only for me, but also for my 2nd graders! The students can now access everything they need to and put it back where it belongs without assistance from me. I am so thankful for Elissa and would trust her to come back and organize other parts of my classroom and home! Check out the before and after!

It sounds cheesy, but having so many spaces in my home become organized with the help from Elissa with On It Organizing has truly been life-changing! Our family had been living with a lot of extra junk and clutter in some rather disorganized spaces for quite a while, with our basement taking the brunt of the clutter. We moved into our current home when I was 8 months pregnant with our first child, so lets just say I didnt totally have all the packing (or the unpacking, after moving in) as organized as I should have right out of the gate...and then, well, life seems to just happen, and there were always other more pertinent things on which to use my time and energy! Now, 2 kids later, the amount of stuff wed accumulated was getting a bit out of control, and I never really had great organizational systems in place for any of the areas throughout the house. Cue: On It Organizing to the rescue!Elissa came in and overhauled a lot of my spaces. She helped me tackle my kitchen and pantry, toy bins and kids play areas, closets, my jewelry, the porch, our garage, and best of all- the entire basement, which needed the most time and TLC. She worked tirelessly together with me to declutter what was existing, help me determine what to keep, donate, or toss, and primarily used organizational bins that I already had on hand to reorganize just about everything!I could go on and on about what a blessing this has been, but the biggest ones that I often reflect on is how much quicker these projects were able to get done with Elissas help (it would have taken me double or triple the amount of time to do the same job, not to mention the additional years this stuff might have sat before I actually got to addressing it), and then also what a huge burden this has lifted off my shoulders AND my mind. Elissa is a firm believer that when living with physical clutter and disorganization, it can also have a similar effect on the brain. I couldnt agree more! I always had an increase in anxiety and a jumbled brain when I would enter areas of clutter throughout our house, and now so much of that has been reduced and it almost feels like a fog has been lifted and this burden is no longer looming over me.I 100% recommend Elissa and On It Organizing for whatever organizing need you might have!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Once you contact On It Organizing and briefly describe your needs, we will set up a video call with you to see the space and offer you a complimentary quote! We charge an hourly rate of $45/hr.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

It may seem intimidating and also a little embarrassing to have someone look at your most cluttered spaces. However, at On It Organizing, we are committed to kindness, understanding, and a non-judgemental attitude. For us, a messy closet or room is exciting! It is a mystery that is full of untapped potential or a puzzle that is waiting to be put back together. We will never force you to get rid of anything, nor will we get rid of any of your things without your knowledge. We will work with you, the client, to determine what your goals are and which items will help you reach your goals. Sometimes, quite a few things need to be eliminated to help you feel free of the unneeded stress of storing them. On the contrary, there are also times where only a handful of things need to be eliminated. For that client, organization is simply gained through putting things in the right place, placing them in containers, or labeling them. Here's how our process works: 1.) Get in contact with us and briefly describe the space you would like us to organize and let us know the city you are located in. 2.) We will email you back and let you know if we are able to help you with your space. (Most clients' spaces are accepted.) In that response, we will also let you know of some time slots we have available to video call with you in order to see the space and hear about your vision and dream for it. This video call will be less than 15 minutes. 3.) After the video call, we will send you the quote for your space and schedule a time for an experienced organizer to come to your home and work on your project. Depending on the project, it might take a few hours or a few days. 4.) When the experienced organizer is at your home, they will take the items out of the space (if possible) and discuss the items with you- keep, give away, sell, move, etc. At this time, the experienced organizer may offer some suggestions in order to make the space work best for you. The experienced organizer may label some boxes or containers in the space, if necessary. They may come to ask you questions during the process. 5.) Once the space is complete, the experienced organizer will invite you in to see the space! If any minor tweaks are needed, the experienced organizer will help with that. The payment from the client will be collected at this time. 7.) You get to enjoy your space and live free from the clutter! Congratulations on your journey to minimize, prioritize, and organize!
