My name is Yvette Boucher, and my business is Lil Learners Luv Learning. I taught kindergarten for 20 years, and I love to teach! I have a teaching license in the state of Minnesota. My teaching style is hands-on. I like to make learning fun. I also love to help children and adults become confident, successful learners. Teaching reading is a multifaceted process that requires a blend of patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of learners. My approach begins with assessing each student's current reading level and understanding their interests to tailor the learning experience. I incorporate a mix of phonics, vocabulary building, and comprehension strategies to develop foundational skills. Using engaging materials such as stories, interactive activities, and technology, I aim to make reading enjoyable and relevant. Regular feedback and positive reinforcement are crucial to building confidence, while these sessions allow me to address specific challenges. By fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment, I strive to instill a lifelong love for reading in my students.
We also offer Math tutoring. At Lil Learners Luv Learning, our math tutors know that the best way to learn math is by making it active, hands-on, and fun! We use engaging, real-life strategies like manipulatives, math games, visual models, and problem-solving activities to help students truly understand numbers and concepts—not just memorize them. Our tutors work with students to strengthen foundational skills such as number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, while also supporting higher-level problem solving, fractions, and algebra readiness. Each lesson is tailored to the child’s individual learning style and pace, so they can build confidence step by step. We believe every child can be successful in math when they have the right tools and encouragement. By turning math into an interactive, positive experience, our tutors help students grow their skills, overcome challenges, and see math as something they can do.
In addition to teaching reading and Math, I also teach English. Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) involves a blend of patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of learners. My approach to teaching ESL is centered around creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves. I prioritize building strong foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, using a variety of interactive and engaging methods. This includes incorporating multimedia resources, games, and real-life scenarios to make lessons relatable and dynamic. I also emphasize the importance of cultural understanding, encouraging students to share their own experiences and perspectives to enrich the learning process. By fostering a collaborative atmosphere, I aim to empower students to gain confidence and fluency in English, equipping them with the skills needed for both academic and everyday success.
