Pete was excellent at envisioning a new design that worked for my well established garden. I wanted a change and he certainly gave it to me. Plants have now been in ground for 2 weeks and are already growing and very healthy looking. I'm anxious to watch them grow and see the new garden unfold. Pete is very punctual and professional. He drew up a plan after visiting and visualizing what "could" be, and brought new plants and mulch and wheelbarrow over in his little car (no big trucks for Pete). He remade my garden, including removing old plants, in 3 days, working by himself in his quiet manner. I was lucky to get everything in by the end of April and now I'm sitting back and watching it grow. I'm extremely pleased.

Pete cares for the environment. That's what impressed me the most. He knows the soil and the seeds. He designed our garden with hardy MN plants that bloom with fruits and flowers every year. He even drops by once in a while to check on them and give us pointers. He is a true botanist at heart and a great designer. Knows his stuff and a great pleasure to work with.

Pete is very knowledgeable about native plants and plantings, and he took all of our personal and site needs into consideration when putting together our landscape design. Pete doesn't just design a beautiful landscape, he also provides ongoing advice and support in implementing a project and managing it moving forward. We have a beautiful backyard and we feel like competent gardeners now, thanks to Pete!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the project, so your cost will be customized to you and the exact amount of work being done. I have an hourly rate for gardening/planting services and a separate rate for landscape design work. Depending on your project, I may have a site visit fee to help you assess what exactly needs to be done and how we can best improve your landscape before I begin work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a masked, socially-distanced site visit outdoors to walk around your landscape, talk about what's working and what isn't, and hash out a plan of action to reach your goals for this season, with possible future phases down the line to help you budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in landscape architecture and a bachelor's in Applied Ecology. I've been gardening my whole life and designing edible and native landscapes full time since 2015.
