About

I am a former competitive ballroom dancer and have been teaching partner dancing since 2000. I specialize in teaching wedding dances, the first dance. Understanding how to translate a couples vision into a lasting memory or help self proclaimed “non dancers” feel comfortable on the dance floor takes choreography, knowledge, and time. Assisting people learn to dance, as a hobby, date night or as a way to exercise without the gym is a great joy. Dancing is fantastic. I believe everyone has the ability to dance and enjoy themselves doing it. Wedding couples that tell me how much fun they’re having and how much easier it is than they thought, the smiles on the faces of couples who are having a wonderful time with a shared activity enjoying themselves and one another are all examples of what I love about teaching. Dance is so much fun and I love sharing that.

My wife and I have taken several at home lessons to spice up out lives and have not been disappointed. Deborah is knowledgeable, works well with our skill and experience level and makes learning fun.

I cannot rave about Deborah enough. She worked with our dancing abilities (or lack thereof) perfectly. We had so much fun! We hired her for our wedding dances and just the know-how of dancing for other events. We learned so much and she made it feel so easy. If you are looking for help dancing, or want something choreographed to your specific abilities look no further.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The rates are dependent on if it’s an individual or couple. Rates for wedding dances are higher due to choreography, music editing. Group classes are based on size of group and number of classes scheduled.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, find out what their goals are, what their skill level is, what their favorite music is and why they’ve decided to begin or restart at this time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in performance, am a member of the World Dance Federation and am a former professional ballroom competitor. I was trained at Arthur Murray in Pittsburgh, PA and became an independent instructor in 2007 when I moved to Harrisburg, PA.
