Alan did a great job with my deckstaining. He was reasonably priced and informed me of all my options. Overall, excellent workmanship and i would hire him again.
Alan did a fantastic job in staining our porch and deck. We were under a bit of a time crunch, and he was able to not only fit us in his schedule & complete the work in a short amount of time, but did a superb job as well. Highly recommend him for anyone looking for this type of work to be completed!
Alan did a great job cleaning and staining our deck. He even came back to touch up some places where the wood had soaked up the stain and needed some additional stain. He was very responsive and just a great guy. We would hire him again!
This review is long overdue. I hired Alan for staining our deck that looked very gray and much older than it is. He is extremely professional and explains everything step by step before doing the job. Our project was a little delayed due to the weather but Alan always kept us well informed. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Until I get an opportunity to see the deck, either through pictures or in person, I always attach a generalized bid price of $2.75/sq. ft. to the lowest sq. footage category. I understand that a personal visit doesn't guarantee the job, but it sure guarantees an exact bid with no surprises.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial contact is made through Thumbtack, we exchange numbers and communicate through texting and phone calls. Each transaction is duplicated in the thumbtack site so there aren't any surprises for either me or the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do not have any certifications for my deck work. I have a building back ground with framing and cabinetry. I was taught the trade and within a couple years ventured into my own company. I have been working around vehicles, houses, decks and fences for fourteen years.
