- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a creative person and love making things beautiful. My mother was really into hair and makeup and from a very young age she taught me the importance of blending and proper application. I started tearing out pictures from magazines and recreating the looks. (I had a look book of magazine clippings) so when I had friends come over or we were going to an event, I would have them pick a look and I would recreate it. It was super fun for me and I kept going. Learning new tricks along the way.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Due to my age, I have done a ton of weddings. I seem to be in that place where everyone I know is getting married or has just gotten married. I do one wedding then tend to book another wedding off that. It seems to be a cycle :)
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I just did a wedding party where the bride wanted the bridesmaids to look the same. I did 8 identical up-do's for a wedding party and did their makeup. Did I mention that their hair length ranged from barely reaching their shoulders (with tons of layers) to straight hair to the waist. It was a challenge, but they all loved their hair!
