Introduction: I am a certified teacher with 6 years in the classroom before taking a job in youth development for the last 3 years. My Bachelors degree is in Early Middle Childhood with a specialization in Special Education and my Masters in Education is in Early Childhood. I am certified to teach general education K-6 and Mild to Moderate Special Education K-12. I am trained in Singapore Math and have my AMS Montessori Certification. During my years in the classroom, I specialized in Math but have taught all Elementary Education subjects.
As you can see in my photos, I’m all about adapting my teaching for my students. I prefer hands on learning and believe that sitting at a desk is not required to have a good productive learning space. I’ve worked with many different types of learners and love adapting my knowledge to each individual student I work with.

Sarah is a wonderful mathematics teacher and guide to our son. She is able to personalize his lessons, homework, and enrichment activities to his own style and interests. This way, our son enjoys learning and looks forward to his classes with her. As valuable as her effective teaching, are her abilities to engage him in each topic, to encourage him to share his feedback and ask questions, and to reassure him that errors and corrections are part of the learning process. Sarah is a skilled tutor, but most importantly to our family, she is also kind and compassionate. We highly recommend her as a Maths Tutor.

Sarah was my son, London’s, first math tutor when he was 7 years old. In the two consecutive years she tutored him, she was able to change his mindset completely regarding his capabilities in math. When they first began working together, London was painfully shy and felt he was “stupid” when it came to math. With Sarah’s patience and consistent encouragement, London grew leaps and bounds with his math skills. More importantly though, Sarah’s unwavering belief in him ignited London’s confidence in himself. On the day I had to tell London that Sarah was moving away, he cried and asked me if she would come back soon. I am immensely thankful for Sarah’s mindfulness. She understands that teaching is not meant to be executed in a cookie cutter fashion. London felt safe with Sarah because she never made him feel negatively judged. She not only unlocked his potential, but also gave him the magic of acceptance.

Sarah is a very patient and kind person. She tutored our son over the summer and he loved working with her and learned so much in the meantime!!! Our experience with Sarah was simply fabulous and I would recommend her highly!!!

My children have had the blessing of having Ms. Moorefield teach them in two different grade levels. She was also over one of the student council committee after school programs, in which one of my children were apart of. To be a true effective educator you really have to be born and instilled with certain traits. Educating is her true calling. Her integrity and mortality spills over to her care for making sure each of her students are not left behind. I could always depend on her to give me thorough feedback. She always had new ideas and ways to help children to better understand. I appreciate all that you've done for my children.

Sarah was really great with my son. He was dealing with a lot of behavior issues and she continually worked to find creative outlets and teaching methods that would help him succeed!
