We were given a timeline that wasn’t met and it took numerous times to get them to commit to date, not the dated promised. One good aspect of the whole process was the office manager, Missy. She answered my questions in a timely fashion and tried to accommodate as much as she could. The workers did a great job with the remodel, however, items weren’t ordered in a timely manner and some items came in incorrectly. We requested the master bathroom and a central bathroom remodel and the central one is being worked on now. The master bath was mostly completed in November because I needed foot surgery and needed to use the central bathroom. The timeline of the initial request and meeting to the bathroom being finished now has taken 7 months.Feb 22, 2018Verified
We had a major remodel done by Rescue 1. We had the wall removed between the kitchen and living room. They replaced the ceiling, walls, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, and electrical. While they were doing the demo, they discovered we had a bad carpenter ant infestation. If they wouldn’t have been doing such a thorough job, I hate to think of how long it would have taken us to discover the damage. If you are looking for quality work, I would recommend them to anyone planning a major remodel project. They will not cut corners nor use sub-standard materials. They made my dream kitchen a reality.Aug 5, 2018Verified
Mike and his team at Rescue 1 Construction were professional, timely, and efficient. They were able to complete our remodel on time and maintained a professional demeanor throughout the whole process. The team kept a clean workspace throughout the project and did a final cleaning when the project was finished. I highly recommend this company.Jun 13, 2018Verified
My husband and I are embarking on a two phase project with Rescue One; phase one is gutting two bathrooms, redoing old cast iron plumbing in the second floor, and completely replacing the ceiling in our main floor living/dining room. So far, Mike and the Rescue One team have been great to work with. Mike spent over an hour walking through our home, giving a free consultation on repairs and design ideas, as well as providing details on how his team works and his business philosophy. After that, his office team quickly turned around and provided an estimate the same day. We had follow up questions before signing off on our estimate, so again, Mike invited me to his office and they spent a lot more time with me, showed me samples of all kinds of materials they use, pictures of other similar projects, and even threw in a bonus beer and some Rescue One swag, enough to seal the deal in my book. Since then, we’ve finalized the larger portion of our design details, and are going to be scheduling the work in February. Mike is knowledgeable, experienced, and also, a lot of fun to work with. Missy has been so helpful with the design process as well, and we are super excited to see their hard work come to fruition! We’ll update as our project comes along!Dec 30, 2018Verified
This company is also known as Kemp construction with the BBB. The owner is Mike Kemp. We were given a timeline that wasn’t met and it took numerous times to get them to commit to date, not the dated promised. One good aspect of the whole process was the office manager, Missy. She answered my questions in a timely fashion and tried to accommodate as much as she could. We requested the Removal of a wall, cabinet relocation, new granite countertops installed and an undermount sink. The sink and faucet were not ordered in a timely fashion. They were not ordered until after the deadline that we agreed on was over. The first two were defaults and did not work properly, so we had to wait on a third sink to arrive. They received half of the price quoted before beginning the job. The first day they started on my home remodel project was the only day throughout the project that they did the most work. After that, there was an excuse for everyday that they were not at my home working. Mike the owner is a horrible person and will lie and lie to you to make you think he's really making your home a priority, but his actions show otherwise. I gave him a key for entry to my home, so that he would have access without the presence of me or my husband and also so that he could meet the deadline that he did not make. He took it upon himself without me or my husband's knowledge to put my key in an open area on the roof, where his workers (and any other person walking up and down the street or neighbor paying attention) had access to the key and entry to my home. I caught one of them on camera grabbing the key and I alerted my husband. My husband removed the key and did not tell Mike he removed the key. Next day, one of his workers showed up with his pregnant wife and two year old to do work at my house, first off, this is a work sight and someone's home, you do not come with your family. They were not able to get access to our home because we removed the key. The worker contacted Mike and Mike contacted my husband and that did not go well. Let me remind you, Mike never did let us know that he had placed our key outside where any and everybody had access to it. The only part of my project that I am satisfied with, is the removal of the wall and the relocation of my cabinets. My granite has a crack in it and it had a crack before it was glued down. I mentioned it to him and he said he would fix it. But he did not. Whoever did the measuring of the countertops and the sink, obviously do not know how to measure. I have cracked countertops, crooked countertops and seams where there should not be. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Again, Mike the owner is a bad person and a scam artist. He's nice and caring all the way up until you give him his money. After he has money in hand, the care goes right out of the window. My Backsplash was not completed by rescue one.Jun 11, 2018VerifiedRescue 1 Construction's reply
