Could not be more pleased. He finished up several loose ends after third floor renovation and did an excellent job.Feb 8, 2020Verified
Roman did a great job installing our barn door track. He offered suggestions and recommendations and the project was finished timely. On top of it, very nice guy! Would recommend!May 23, 2019Verified
We are trying to finish projects in order to sell our house. Roman was quick to respond! We had an unfortunate door rot. Roman cut it out and replaced the jam/trim to make it look completely new! His value is par none from the quotes we received. He was very kind and informed us of everything he was doing. I would most certainly recommend him!Sep 26, 2017Verified
Roman gave me a quote prior to installation, but then after finishing the project (which took less than 1 hour) he raised the price 20%. We later agreed that he would issue a refund for the amount that he overcharged me and for a portion of the project that he didn’t end up completing, but after several weeks, I still have not received the refund. He has claimed he is busy with work and that his bank account has been hacked. I would not trust this contractor for your project.Oct 18, 2017Broadview Group LLC's reply
First of all, this dispute revolves around $25. Costomer had a group of decorative mirrors to hang as well as a "simple window caulking" job. Gave her a quote over text and hit my appointment time to within minutes. Window was on the 2nd story and leaking water when it rains so I did the 6 mirrors spaced nicely on her dining room wall first. Ive been doing this a while so it was a breeze. (They had tried and put a few holes in the wall before giving up) Then I got my 20ft ladder out and set it against the house. It couldnt quite reach and was on the edge of the house and the edge of the deck, 40ft drop. I dont want to die so I went in and told the customer I would return with a bigger ladder and my helper. She said no problem, mirrors look great, come back whenever since its exterior work and how much do I owe you. We had agreed on $125 originally but I asked for $150 since I had to make 2 trips (that was the 20% increase). She was very friendly and said sure. Next morning she messages my to say I "took advantage of her" and "overcherged cause I was there only an hour." Offered her a refund, went back and forth for a few weeks. Agreed on $50 back. Had some problems with my bank accnt. (Someone took all the $ out of it). Told her sorry Im a busy guy and offered to stop by with cash. Guess if she had gotten an incompetent guy who took 3hrs to hang pictures she would have felt she was getting her moneys worth. Really telling that she didnt choose to put her name on the review and went with "anonymous." All this over $25.
I cannot recommend Roman Remodeling LLC highly enough. We needed to have the stairwell railings removed for a sofa pick-up and delivery. He quoted a fair price, arrived on time, was very professional in his work, and he came back after the furniture delivery as agreed upon to finish the work, once again very professional. You can tell he is a very skilled craftsman and loves his work.Sep 18, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is determined by each individual project. Day rate is in the 400s, half day mid 200. I always give an up front price based on a description and a few pictures of the areas needing work. Ive been doing this for a decade plus and I know how long things take to complete. I don't just show up and run the clock at 70 an hour, I rarely raise the quoted price unless something major pops up as I realize nobody likes surprises. If there is a problem I involve the client. I will not do the extra work and charge hundreds ,without approval, more because I "found something."
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I find out what the client is trying to accomplish and find the best fit. Be that repair, replace or redesign. The first step is describing the project and the timeline. I like to get pictures and produce a price range. If that is agreeable I come out, submit a written quote and schedule the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have 10 yrs. experience in interior and exterior construction up to and including whole house renovation. I have rental properties that I hire people to work on so I know what its like from both sides of the transaction.
