Meet Caleb – The Craftsman Behind Woodgrain Sunrise Hi, I’m Caleb, a seasoned woodworker with over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial woodworking. My journey began in Columbia, MO, where I honed my skills trimming houses. After a decade, I moved to Chicago, diving into bar and restaurant re-concepts and buildouts, where I developed a keen eye for creativity and functionality. From there, I co-founded a woodworking business in Nashville with Baxter Built, specializing in hospitality buildouts that brought unique spaces to life. In 2020, I returned to St. Louis to be closer to home and lay down roots with my two kids. Now, through Woodgrain Sunrise, I bring my expertise to both residential and commercial projects—whether it’s custom cabinetry, built-ins, or detailed trim work. Caleb was amazing to work with. I had a strange project- I ordered an IKEA Pax closet system so I could change the drawer/shelf configuration anytime I wanted but I wanted a beautiful built in look to make it look custom and professional. Caleb listened to my ideas, figured out the project, and built everything in beautifully. You can tell he takes pride in his work and wanted to make it perfect for us. He was prompt, kind, professional, easy communicator, and worked really hard. If we ever have another project I trust him to come back and take care of us. After having trouble with many independent contractors in the past- our appreciation for Caleb is extremely high. You can see the before during and after in my photos. We couldn’t be happier!
