I've been a loyal customer of Gonzalez HVAC for the past 5 years, working primarily with Rich between both of my homes here in South St. Louis City. Between these 2 homes he has installed 2 air conditioning units and, most recently, an Air Coil. As always, he did an excellent job in the installation and explaining the process. He also gave me a quick-n-easy way maintenance suggestion that made sense and followed up with a text to remind me to register my new Air coil with the manufacturer. He also proactively inspected my HVAC system for any possible future repairs/concerns. From end-2-end Gonzalez HVAC provided honest, reasonably priced services and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing a trustworthy HVAC company. Bruce was extremely helpful in repairing my AC that went out. He was prompt, trustworthy, and very affordable. He explained the problem with the until thoroughly and understood I was on a budget throughout. He got the older unit I have up and running quick order. Other (bigger, highly marketed) companies I’ve used before tried to oversell me and gauge me. Bruce and his company were the opposite. They do right by the customer. I highly recommend using them for anything HVAC related!

A family’s future heating and cooling

Kevin came in and determined the new outside a/c unit was installed improperly. We have been through 6 different companies over the years trying to figure out the issues with our system. We paid more than I had hoped but this is the first time the house cooled down within a few his not days. I woke up this morning COLD and we had it set in 70s. Also the communication was wonderful. I’ve tried to deal with two large HVAC companies since moving to the area last year from Chicago with multiple poor experiences. Not only did Christopher quickly identify the immediate issue I was having that these other “seasoned technicians” were not able to identify, but he seems to have corrected an overall issue with the way the zoned system was setup. I had the company that installed my system here when I first moved in because it didn’t seem like things were working as they should, and even they were not able to figure this out (they said “everything is fine.”) Unlike the others, Christopher listened to me, was consultative, and treated me like a person. When the control board I needed came in, he made the trip here off-hours to get it installed so I wouldn’t worry about things in 100+ degree weather when out of town. If you need someone who is resourceful and experienced, I highly recommend Christopher.

I would have chosen all five highlights, Work Quality, Professionalism, Responsiveness, Value and Punctuality, if this silly Thumbtack app allowed that! Rich was a life-saver for us. Our central A/C system died at the start of the late August 2023 heat wave here in St. Louis, the worst in recent memory. We had been told that the most economical solution to our problem would be to replace the entire system, since an expensive component of the system had failed. "Why throw good money after bad" was the rationale behind that advice, given to us by another contractor. We called in Rich Gonzalez for a second opinion. He immediately, and correctly, diagnosed the issue that we were having with our A/C system. There were no bad components, and Rich got our system running within an hour. You can believe that Rich is our "go to" HVAC guy from now on. And not just because he fixed this problem. We'll continue to use him because it's obvious he knows what he's doing, he's personable and a straight shooter, and his rates are competitive and reasonable. We highly recommend him.
