I NO LONGER provide interior house painting services and have decided to commit full time as an artist. I have an MFA in Fine Art from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NYC. So if you want something done on the creative side - A mural for a kid's room, faux painting, etc. - I can do that sort of work as well. However, it is my intention to focus on portrait painting.
So you'll see pics and reviews in my profile of interior painting- but I've left them up there so that you could get a sense of who I am and what I am all about- high quality, fair pricing, incredibly creative and passionate.
When you hire me to paint a portrait, I'm not simply painting an image, I am imbuing that subject's spirit into the paint itself. Capturing their essence. The painting is an extension of that individual(s), not a mere representation.

Jeff was hired by me to do painting of a full 700sq ft condo. Jeff did everything right. Before the job started he came over to do a more thorough estimate and gave me feedback on my color selection. As part of our quote he picked up the paint and did everything end to end. On the day of the job Jeff was very punctual (to the minute) and worked non stop throughout the day. He worked quickly, efficiently, and the final product was superb. The best thing is that he left the place like it was and did a great job with the cleanup. Thanks again Jeff and best of luck!

He was extremely fast and the room turned out great. The room I had painted had vaulted ceilings and a staircase I knew I wanted a professional to do. He did the ceiling, walls and trim and it looks so great. I’m very glad I chose to go with him for this project. He was very attentive and explained things well since my painting knowledge was extremely limited.

I needed a ceiling painted in one of my rental units. Jeff responded quickly and was very flexible about meeting times. After he looked at the job, he adjusted his quote to a lessor amount and we were able to addanother small project to his painting task. He made suggestions, that in the long run, would save us money. He was very polite to my tenant and also worked around her schedule. I would and have in fact hired Jeff again for another job at my home. He was straight forward with his skill set and was not reluctant to share what he was capable of doing and what he was not comfortable with.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
This is a field where you definitely get what you pay for. I see clients who hire me and tell me that the thought they were getting a good deal when a painter low balled the job... but then realized the reason it was cheap was because they got paint on everything but the walls. Conversely, taking out a second mortgage on your home and paying an arm and a leg for a painter doesn't mean they'll do excellent work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communicating needs and expectations is crucial. There is only so far filling out a form can get you. I need to hear you and ideally see the project in person so we can have a true understanding in order to be of quality service.
For me, it's all about the relationship. Each relationship dictates a different process. I work organically. Each project is a puzzle and the process of painting, the steps involved can be rearranged and edited to suit the needs and preferences of the customer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in Fine art from one of the best schools in the world, Pratt Institute. I've worked for some 20 different artists, which has greatly increased my skill set, my "tool box", and my perspective.
I've worked with master woodworkers and cabinet makers, I've done various construction work... so I can understand and apply multiple processes and put that knowledge to work for you, even if I'm just painting a wall or two. I have a better sense of what it takes to get things done, what to expect on a job site, how to work with other professionals (or unprofessionals), and how to deal with the unexpected (and when it comes to homes, the unexpected should always be expected)
