What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first session is usually 1 1/2 hours so that I have a good understanding of what your challenges are and get some knowledge of who you are. In a relaxed environment, you will have the opportunity to give me some information on your background; your family; what you hope to accomplish through coaching and what you see as your biggest challenge to achieving your desires.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Masters Degree in Education from Washington University included 20 hours of courses devoted to counseling.
My Coaching Certification from the Coach Training Alliance in Boulder,Colorado prepared me optimally for this practice with 50-75 hours of coaching individuals included as part of the curriculum and my 10 years of experience as a Life Coach.
My experience as the Executive Director of Kids In the Middle enabled me work with children and parents and to offer them support, encouragement and tools to work with in an ever changing environment as they dealt with a divorce.
CME Credits (Continuing Medical Education) from Harvard University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
My usual fee is $90/hr. but my first session is 1 1/2 hours to do an Initial Intake. My charge for that service is $130.
Depending on the circumstances and the distance travelled to my office there is room for negotiation.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Over ten years ago, I began training as a Coach after going through a divorce and wanted to help others to move forward successfully as I have. I have expanded my practice to deal with individuals going through relationship challenges; career changes; transitions such as children leaving the nest; and living with optimal health by offering a wellness component to my work. Life changes can be stressful and we often overlook our needs in that area. I have also been an educator for over 3 decades and have raised 3 wonderful young adults which I believe has factored into offering assistance to others and a parental perspective if needed.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Individuals who are having relationship issues; those who have separated and ended up renewing their relationship with their spouse; individuals looking to lose weight; eat more healthily and change their lifestyle habits; individuals who are pursuing a divorce and dealing with the many challenges of that experience; those who want a new career path; those who have been widowed; and those who are feeling stuck but can't figure out why. I have also worked with children and adults dealing with low self-esteem issues and helped them to build their self-confidence.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of my most recent accomplishments is coaching a widow and helping her to reengage in life. She had been happily married for over three decades and moved across the country to be closer to her son with the realization that she needed to create a whole new life for herself. After 8 months she has transformed.
